Lowborn

Aaron had never really found his path, out here in the Arabian peninsula. He wasn't the type to get married to the daughter of a Sheikh or influential person. He didn't have the charm or intelligence or power to move his way up in this world. He was a minority, and everyone was bigger, stronger, and more endowed than he.

So he'd been married off, not to a wealthy power-broker like his sister Katie. But to a daughter of the Indian servant of the man Katie married. Her name was Pooja. She was pleasing and attractive, but like Aaron, a minority. They lived on a tiny plot, near the main house where Katie lived and Pooja worked. And then, after work, the stable boys had their fun with Pooja, while Aaron had to pretend he was an oblivious cuckold. And the damnedest thing was, that was when he was at his hardest.
