Catching up
Lots of talk
There were so many things to catch up on. 54 years had passed since Nancy's disappearance. The three friends talked for hours about what had gone on in their lives since the last time they saw each other. Technology had moved forward incredibly, culture had changed, politicians continued to argue and the world was as unstable as Nancy had remembered.
Mike and Alice had a family of their own, their grandkids were the same age as Nancy. They filled Nancy in on everything she'd missed. "Oh you would have loved it", they said "the music, the summer of love, the freedom that we had". Nancy fondly remembered the freedom and love they all enjoyed together. All of her friends had remained local and they still saw each other regularly. "Perhaps we can get them over to meet you again," Alice suggested. "Maybe in small steps". "Our home is yours" they said with a warm smile.
Nancy lay in bed that night, a million thoughts running through her head. However, she was glad that she had found her friends again.
