Lost Cat Pt.2

Chapter 28 by Arcana95 Arcana95

The search for Blake's whereabouts continues with the group splitting up to cover more ground. Considering how Penny seemed to be interested in getting to know Ruby more, Dolan leaves her with the little red huntress while he partners with the 'Bombshell Blonde' Yang and the Weiss "Cream" princess, Weiss. They go from store to store, block by block for any chance that someone may have seen Blake some time ago.

Dolan: Hey so you wouldn't happen to have seen a girl around (5'6"), has long black hair and a nice curvy ass, have you?

Old man: Son if I was still around your age and saw a girl like that then I certainly wouldn't be stuck here with my bitch of a wife.

Old lady: EXCUSE ME!? I MAY BE OLD BUT I STILL HAVE A GREAT SENSE OF HEARING YOU OLD BASTARD!!! SHIT, I MIGHT JUST HAVE TO COME IN THERE AND WHOOP YOUR ASS!!

Old man: BITCH I WISH YOU WOULD BRING YOUR OLD CRUSTY ASS IN HERE; I'D POUND YOU INTO THE DIRT!!

Old lady: POUND ME!? HA THAT'D BE A FIRST COMING FROM YOUR WEAK-ASS!!

Old man: OK YOU BRING YOUR MUMMIFIED OLD HUSK IN HERE SO I CAN PUT YOU BACK INTO YOUR TOMB!!!

Old lady: YOUR TALKIN' ALOT OF SHIT!! HOLD ON LET ME GO PUT MY TEETH IN!

Old man: DON'T PUT YOUR TEETH IN NOW 'CAUSE THEY FITTIN TO BE KNOCKED OUT ANYWAY!

Old lady: ALRIGHT I'VE HAD ENOUGH; I'M COMING IN THERE RIGHT NOW!

Dolan: Oh, would you look at the time we best be on our way, right Yang?

Yang: Uh right... sorry if we bothered you, thanks anyway.

As they quickly make their way outside, once the door closes behind them, the sounds of gunfire can be heard in the background. Eh, I'm sure everything will turn out ok with those two.

Dolan: Welp I don't know about the two of you but that certainly was the highlight of my day that's for sure. [He says sarcastically]

Yang: What was that part about Blake's ass?

Dolan: Oh, it's just what some of the guys from the second and third years say. Hell, you should hear about what they say about you.

Yang: I'll keep that in mind for later. *Sigh* Man this is hopeless...

Weiss: Hmph...

Yang: You really don't care if we find her, do you?

Weiss: Don't be stupid of course I do. I'm just afraid of what she'll say when we find her. After all, those who are innocent never run, Yang.

As Weiss begins to walk away Yang takes a moment to think about everything so far. She then turns and looks toward Dolan who seems to be in deep thought.

Yang: What about you Dolan? Do you think Blake is guilty?

Dolan: Guilty of having a nice ass? Absolutely! And as for being guilty of her actions while being a part of the White Fang is still up in the air. Keep in mind the reason why a majority of them turned to violence in the first place, was because no one would take them seriously from just words alone. When that fell on deaf ears, they opted for a more direct way to get their message across, though whether this was the right or wrong way is not for us to judge given their long history.

Yang: Jeez a simple 'yes' or 'no' would have worked...

Dolan: I guess what I'm trying to say is that my answer is still pending is all. But if it makes you feel any better, I can say for certain it's not leaning toward yes! Anyway, let's keep looking for her before she goes and does something really stupid.

Yang: Come on Doland. This is Blake we're talking about not Jaune. What could she possibly do that would be considered stupid?

Later that night while the others continue their search for Blake; she is busy watching from the top of a warehouse as the last of the huge Dust shipment is offloaded onto the docks. It's quiet with nothing out of the ordinary happening at least for now. If there was any time for the White Fang to make a move it would be right now. Still, she stayed low and waited quietly for the right moment. When she hears a noise, she turns to see that it was none other than Sun who decided to leave earlier and grab something to eat.

Sun: Hey I'm back. Boy, you wouldn't believe the line at the store. You'd think this late they wouldn't be so crowded.

Blake: I still can't believe you went to grab a bite to eat. In the middle of a stakeout no less. [She says glaring daggers at him]

Sun: Oh, come on Blake can you blame me for working up an appetite when the last time we ate was late this morning. [Shrugging off his partner's annoyance]

Blake: Whatever.

Sun: So anyway, did I miss anything while I was gone?

Blake: Not really, they've offloaded all crates from the boat, however now it's just sitting there.

Sun: Cool, by the way, I stole you some food!

Blake: Do you always break the law without a second thought?

Sun: Um excuse me but weren't you in like a cult or something!?

Blake: I'm sorry but could you repeat that? I couldn't hear you from the sound of me loading my weapon.

*Click*

Sun: Uhhh... too soon?

Just then a huge gust comes out of nowhere. When the two Faunus look up, they see that it's an Air shuttle slowly making a descent towards the ground. Once it lands the door opens and the staircase unfolds for the occupants to exit it. Unfortunately to Blake's dismay the moment the first person began to leave the ship she instantly was able to recognize the outfit they were wearing. No doubt from the symbol she knew that it indeed belonged to the White Fang.

Blake: Oh no...

Sun: So, is that them?

Blake: *sigh* Yes, it's them...

Sun: You really didn't think they were behind it, did you?

Blake: No, I think deep down I knew. I just didn't want to be right.

???: HEY WHAT'S THE HOLDUP!?

Blake turns her head to see who the person yelling was. To her shock, it was someone she'd never thought would be working together with the White Fang...

Roman: We're not exactly the most inconspicuous bunch of thieves at the moment! So why don't you animals try and pick up the pace!

Blake: (Torchwick?) This isn't right, the White Fang would never work with a human. Especially someone like that! [She says standing up furious]

Sun: Huh, Blake? Hey, what are you doing!?

Blake leaps off the building and imminently begins to advance towards Torchwick and once she gets close enough, she puts the blade of 'Gamble Shroud' to his neck. Though despite the fact that his life is in danger Roman remains calm in front of the Fang members showing he isn't so easily intimidated.

Roman: Whoa, take it easy there little lady.

As several of the White Fang members point their guns toward Blake, she removes her bow to reveal her cat ears in front of all those in attendance. For just a moment they were all taken aback by this realization.

Blake: Brothers of the White Fang why are you aiding this scum!?

It was then that a smirk slowly started to form on Roman's face. Clearly, the girl wasn't fully aware of what was going on currently within the White Fang and had jumped to conclusions.

Roman: *Chuckle* Oh kid, could it be you didn't get the memo?~

Blake: What are you talking about?

Roman: Oh well, you see the White Fang and I are going in on a joint business adventure together.

Blake: No way, you're a liar.

Roman: You're not wrong there however right now I am in fact telling the truth. The Fang and I have this wonderful little thing in store for Vale.

Blake: Tell me what it is, or I'll put an end to your little operation.

Roman: Ok, firstly you have a blade to my throat. So, you're kinda already in the process of trying to end things. Secondly, I wouldn't exactly call this a little operation. [As he looks up towards the sky]

Blake follows where Roman is looking and sees several more ships flying in surrounding the both of them. It was at this moment that while Blake was distracted, Roman used this as his opportunity to escape from her grasp. He points his cane directly under her feet and pulls the trigger on it to fire a Dust round towards the ground causing an explosion that knocks Blake straight into the air releasing Torchwick in the process. Thanks in part to her aura protecting her from the explosion Blake was not severely hurt and was already beginning to get back on her feet, which was fortunate since as she was getting up Roman started firing more Dust rounds at her. With each shot fired Blake was able to pull off multiple perfectly timed evasive maneuvers before running behind one of the large Dust crates for cover.

Roman: Here kitty ki-... huh?

He feels something land on his hat momentarily blocking his line of sight. When he readjusts his hat and removes whatever landed on it, he takes a second to ponder when he sees it's a banana peel.

Roman: What in the fu-

Before Roman could finish, Sun comes from out of nowhere and dropkicks Torchwick knocking him to the ground.

Sun: Leave her alone!

Just then the doors on one of the ships still in the air open up for a group of White Fang members inside to leap out of it to give Roman backup and soon enough Sun finds himself surrounded.

Roman: You mustn't be the brightest banana in the bunch are you considering you're now surrounded!

Sun: That's fine! You might have me outnumbered but outclassed!

As the group begins to charge toward the lone monkey, Sun just as easily starts to take out each one of the Fang members one by one with nothing but his bare hands. It is only partway through half of them that he decides to finally pull out his weapon which is a red staff with pistols at each of the ends and begins to style on the poor outclassed members. Finally, once the last one is dealt with Roman resumes his attack and shoots a Dust round towards Sun who easily blocks it. Seeing this as her chance, Blake comes out of nowhere and charges at Roman with her blades drawn, ready to attack. Though despite Blake being a skilled fighter in her own right, Roman shows just as capable as a combatant he is by taking each of her attacks in stride and even manages to get the better of her by knocking her to the ground with his cane putting her at his mercy. However, thanks in part to Sun's interference he'd knock Roman back giving Blake room to recover as he takes his turn at fighting him.

Within the brief exchange of blows, Sun reveals that his staff is capable of detaching and turning into a hybrid weapon of half gun half nun chucks, or "gun chucks" in simple terms. While Sun does display great skill in swinging the gun chucks and shooting at the same time, Roman displays just as much in terms of being able to block all of Sun's attacks, while he is shooting at him, while engaging him in close combat. Roman only ever gets hit when Blake comes in just as he's wide open from defending against Sun's onslaught of attacks sending him flying back.

Getting up Roman aims his cane at a crate suspended in the air right above the two Faunus and fires a shot that cuts off the only thing keeping it up causing the large mass to plummet down below to try to squish them. Though Blake and Sun do manage to roll out of the way just in time to avoid being crushed, Sun turns to see he is now staring down the barrel of Roman's cane.

Sun: (Well shit)

Just as Roman is about to pull the trigger...

Ruby: HEY!!!

As both Torchwick and Sun turn toward the voice, Roman sees it was the girl in the red hood who foiled his robbery at the 'From Dust Til Dawn' a while back. Not only that but she seems to be accompanied by another girl.

Roman: Oh, why hello red, nice to see you again! Although don't you think it's a little past your bedtime? (Great she's here now too!? Geez, this is turning into one hell of a shitshow! I mean really what else are you gonna throw at me, huh!?)

-Earlier-

As Dolan, Weiss, and Yang are about to meet with the others at the Bulkhead to call it quits for today and head back to Beacon, the sound of an explosion followed by a column of smoke rising into the air was the perfect indicator of where they may find Blake. It is at this moment a sinister smile begins to take shape on Dolan's face.

Dolan: Girls, sorry but I've gotta take my leave now.

Weiss: Where are you going?

Dolan: To catch a body~
