As she drifted off beside her mother, she was reminded of that boy in the tavern, not older than she, rich and wealthy…

“The note! How daft am I? Probably already left the willow!” She kissed her mother on the forehead and ran out the door.

She rushed past the salmon dock and ran into a muddy set of holes in the darkness but snagged to arrive at the willow by the bridge. Sheepishly, she meets his eyes, in the moonlight they look as though they have great crystals reflecting in his pupils.
