Looking for trainers to challenge

Blue stomps out into the main route through the forest, not caring who sees him. As you follow close behind him, you notice several rookie trainers locking eyes with him and cowering away, intimidated by his piercing stare back. You follow very close behind, making sure everyone else knows you are with Blue so they won't challenge you instead.

Most of the other trainers give Blue a wide berth as you make your way through the forest. You can hear the sounds of Pokemon battles happening out of sight but all the trainers you pass by closely stop whatever they're doing to give the two of you a pretty wide berth or else potentially get challenged by Blue.

That is, until you take another turn and see the other entrance to Viridian Forest way up ahead. Just as the brighter light of the regular route comes into view you see a trainer walking confidently towards you. His bright red hair immediately makes him stand out, and you can't help yourself but to stare at him. He seems very different from the rest of the rookie trainers and bug catchers in the forest.

You break your stare at this enigmatic trainer as you almost bump into Blue. He obviously noticed this trainer as well and is excited at the prospect of a challenging battle. You cower behind Blue as the two trainers approach each other, each with a determined look on their face ready to try to best the other.
