Looking Back and Looking Ahead

Coming out of Allison’s you were feeling on top of the world with a heady afterglow, a clean break, and a bright future ahead. You were free! All that worrying for nothing. Allie had been incredible about everything and you would not forget that. If she wanted another friend with benefits you wouldn’t say no to it off hand. Other ideas began to percolate too…Allison could take a dick. She took yours surprisingly easy. Wonder if she could handle Fiona or Mom? Hmmmm. You laugh and shake your head. You were in such a good mood you were downright giddy, what a silly idea.

Getting into your car you start the engine and sit there a bit. You should probably get home and see how they were getting on with setting up Zoey. It also wouldn’t be a terrible thing to swing by the university and catch up on some work. You were also a bit hungry, maybe a quick lunch. Your mind gives a half a dozen options but in your heart there was only one place you wanted to be right now.

Would it seem **** to go see Casey already? Would it be crass to not give her some breathing room after an intense night? Would you seem a cad coming straight from breaking up with Allison? Or would she see how important she was to you? Should you text her first? Would that be too impersonal? Did she like it when people dropped in unannounced? Did she hate it? She’d been embarrassed last night, would she even WANT to see you? It seemed like she did last you spoke.

“GAH!” You exclaim.

After all the women you’d interacted with today, after everything you’d done with them, it was only now that the old clammy hands and butterflies in your tummy hit you. This wasn’t your family or Zoey or Shonice or Mei or Allison…this was Casey. Beautiful…perfect…lovely Casey. You let out a swooning sigh.

Then you laugh at yourself. You were acting like some lovestruck kid…which is exactly what you were. Allie had called you a romantic and damned if she wasn’t right on the money. Lust and sex were incredible but they couldn’t hold a candle to what you were really seeking in life. She had been so right. While she was after good times and casual sex you had always been chasing a different end. As she said, you wanted to be swept away.

You smack the wheel. “Fuck it!”

You look back then look ahead then put the car into gear and start to drive. Had this been two days ago you wouldn’t have hesitated to swing by and say hello so why hesitate now. You were friends after all. And she lived near the University so it was easy to say you were just in the neighborhood. Besides, had you gone or done anything else all you would have done is thought about her. Especially now that you were officially single. You were absolutely determined to at least try to see her on this fateful day even if only briefly.

As you drive you reflect on the busy day you’d had so far. Truly one of firsts and discoveries. Even beyond the facts that your new big dick was in perfect working order, that your sex life had become a hell of a lot more interesting and even the revelation of your bussy, deeper changes were happening. Your body and spirit had never felt more in harmony, rifts were healing, new connections being made, bonds strengthening, and old relationships had been set right. You could feel the significance of this day as it was happening. Your life simply wouldn’t be the same after today. You were not the same man you were even yesterday. And it wasn’t over yet. You cannot help but marvel at it. In reaching out to Elsie when she needed you, in stepping up and being bold, in being willing to make a selfless sacrifice for her happiness, you had forged a bright new destiny for yourself as well. You were so grateful. It had been easy to be brave for Elsie, you weren’t sure you ever could have been so brave for yourself.

By the time you were pulling up to Casey’s little bungalow you were half expecting to find her gone out on such a fine Saturday as this. But as you turn onto her narrow tree lined street you could see her car parked up ahead. Both joy and nerves hit you in equal measure. You pull in behind her car and park. You sit for a bit looking at her house, remembering how radiant she looked last night when you dropped her off. Like an emerald eyed angel in the dark.

What a girl like her saw in a guy like you…who could say. It was simply beyond you to understand. She deserved a prince not a fool. Fool you may be but you knew one thing for certain, you couldn’t let this chance slip through your fingers.
