Look for targets downstairs

Ash wanted to keep experimenting with the remote, her curiosity too strong to just leave it be for the night. However, she also felt that she shouldn't just keep using it on Mallow all the time. There was only so much she imagined could happen with a single target, so she thought it best to try the device on someone new. And she knew just the place where she could find more people at this time of day.

With her decision made, Ash got back up from the bed and headed out into the hallway. She locked her room, storing the key in a different pocket than the one that held her remote, and quickly made her way downstairs. Not long after, she found herself at the entrance to the lobby.

Standing by the staircase, one had a fairly unobstructed view of the entirety of the lobby and dining area. Thus, even at the current time, Ash was able to make out a few possible targets.

Firstly, there was of course Nurse Joy, currently sitting behind the reception desk. She was taking the time to work through some documents, making good use of the downtime she had in the evening. Ash could imagine the friendly nurse would make for some interesting changes, especially with the many yet unknown buttons at her disposal. Not to mention that she was fairly intrigued at the idea of having yet another female test subject.

Over in the dining area, there was a man with short, black hair sitting at one of the tables by the windows, eating a bowl of pasta. Judging by his clothes, he was obviously a black belt, the white gi and titular belt leaving no doubt to be had. Most likely, he'd come here to do some training away from the city, at least that was what Ash assumed. Using the remote on him might lead to some less strange results, considering he was closer to Ash's original form than her current one was. However, that would also mean they'd be potentially less interesting.

Lastly, there was a girl about her own age sitting on a small couch in the main lobby area, probably a trainer passing through the area on her journey through the Kanto region. She had long, light brown hair under a white hat and was dressed in a light blue top with black trims as well as a red pleated skirt. Her attention was focused on the Ivysaur currently sitting in front of her as it was digging into a bowl of Pokémon food. If used on her, the changes made by the remote might be of a similar extent as they had been with Mallow, but Ash couldn't be sure.

None of the three had noticed or paid attention to Ash entering the lobby, somewhat aided by the fact that she had kept close to the side of the stairs. Before she could use the remote, however, she had to actually pick which one of the three she wanted to use as her next target. And after considering her options one more time, she made her decision.
