Locked in the basement

Ok. So Kanami and Poron found themselves locked in the basement of some abandoned mansion far away from civilization. That kinda sucked.

“What are we going to do?”, Poron asked, clearly scared to the core as he punched the door. The door creaked and groaned but did not seem to budge otherwise. Well, Poron was only at Level 5. “Shall we look for an other way out?”

Luckily Kanami was way too experienced to let such a thing scare her. “D-don't panic! I don't think there are any monsters down there!” She grabbed Poron's arm to calm him down as they made their way back down to the basement floor.

Just as initial thought the basement was very spacious. Still lots of spiderwebs, still lots of dust and still lots of dolls with knives in their hands.

Wait a minute, something wasn't right here.

“I didn't notice the spiderwebs before”, Kanami whispered. “T-there might be some giant spiders down here. Be on your guard.”

Poron however seemed to have a bigger interest in the groups of dolls that strangely appear to all look in their direction. “Kanami? I think we should leave...”

Well, considering that the dolls now started to collective giggle and chant something to the likes of “Come play with us. Forever”, that seemed like pretty good advice!

Kanami let out one perfectly pitched scream for good measure and the two booked it deeper in the bowels of this basement. Now obviously it was very dark in here with the only light source coming from Poron's lantern. As such it was pretty much impossible to know where they where headed. And as such the only indicators was to flee from the giggling dolls.

Kanami was slightly scared by now.

“Uwaaaaahhhh! We are all going to die! I don't want to be killed by creepy **** doooollllls!”

Poron for that matter did try his best to keep moving into a somewhat consistent direction. With how big this basement was it was reasonable likely that there was another exit.

Eventually the giggling of the dolls grew faint and soon enough the only sound that engulfed them was that annoying beep you get in your ear when there is pure silence, which technically wasn't even a sound but a sign of Tinnitus.

“Kanami can you hear this?”

Kanami couldn't hear anything! Wait that wasn't exactly the case. This was the sound of running water! Well, this was as good as any direction. After all water might lead to the outside.

Poron also noticed a change in the structure. Gone was the dank and dusty basement, instead the prince could touch smooth stone. At some point the basement must have gave way to a huge cavern without them even realizing.

That could be good or bad, Poron knew. Spelunking through a cave might just get them even more lost. On the other hand, water might just led them back to the outside.

Kanami didn't seem to be in any position to make any decision, so this was on him.
