Chapter 1576 by Fiftyfiftyfifty Fiftyfiftyfifty

What do you do?

Listen to the voice.

"I am the Beastmistress of Medicine, or the Dark Lady of Monsters," she gloats, now from atop a house's roof. As alluring as her body may be, especially hardly clothed besides her head, her attire is rather silly. The mask matches the colour scheme of the rest, but it still looks strange. Water runs down from the soaked mantle of her hood, and the beak of the mask, as she stares down at her opponent below. With a movement so quick most would easily miss it, she throws one of her daggers down towards her.

Rabbit's Foot, grasping her extended staff already, spins it to reflect the strike with ease before slamming end of the weapon down into the grass. "And I am Rabbit's Foot. If you haven't heard of me, you'll remember after this. Your a villain, and I'm a heroine. It's my duty to stop you here and now."

As they speak, you also notice the massive crocodile creeping its way onto land.

RF then leaps onto the roof to meet her face to face. She spins her bo staff, and then pulls herself down into a combat stance.

The so-called Beastmistress of Medicine steps back slowly, and she yet again laughs. It's a wicked, boisterous sound. It seems she's quite sure of herself. "All manner of monsters are mine to command. Between me, my hydra, and my crocodire, a village likes this one stands little chance."

"Why are you doing this?"

She places a hand upon her bust. "I'm not required to tell you anything, rabbit." To replace the first she threw, she plucks another blade from her belt. "I may be a doctor, but if you want to die, I suppose I can assist."

The moment she hurls another dagger at her opponent, RF spins through the air, and as she lands on the other side, she pirouettes into a kick aimed at the plague doctor's back. Though just as quickly, she turns and raises a leg up to block. She redirects the momentum to the side, and attempts to stab the bunnyfolk in the stomach. It looks like it lands at first, though Rabbit's Foot falls back just in time, perhaps a half second before the tip would have sliced her. It glides perfectly between the cleavage of her suit's chest window.

After a quick recovery, RF swings her staff towards her foe's legs in a sweeping attempt to trip her. The Beastmistress, however, hops right over, and throws a palm in retaliation. The strike is blocked, redirected just as was done in reverse prior, and RF then thrusts her foot right into her stomach, sending the plague doctor flying off the edge of the rooftop.

Meanwhile, there's screaming down the road.

The hulking crocodile-like beast is rampaging. Guards are trying to keep it at bay, though it's far too strong. But then a voice calls out. "I've got it!" shouts Captain Zido, interjecting himself and motioning for the others to flee. "A crocodire, she called it. But soon we'll be calling it dinner, I say!"

When RF looks back down, her opponent is gone.

The next blade does make contact. It comes from behind. RF turns, though it's too late. The dagger cuts open the shoulder of her suit, though just narrowly misses enough to draw blood. She grabs where she thought for a moment a wound could be, though looks to her gloved hand to see she's safe. Then once again, the two of them exchange blows. One leaps over the over, kicks are thrown as well as punches, and another blade is dodged.

"What a ridiculous suit," says the Beastmistress of Medicine in a mocking tone.

"I was going to say yours was cool, but now I don't want to," RF replies.

"Hah! Of course it is. Look at me. I'm the most beautiful woman in these pathetic boonies. Both cool and beautiful. I'm as terrifying as the monsters I command, and with more majesty than any across these lands."

"I don't know. Anyone who attacks helpless civilizations is the one who's pathetic, at least to me. And if that's what you enjoy doing, then you're definitely the monster here. The Hero King Kyle swore to protect this place, and that's what he'll do."

"And what would have happened if you didn't happen to stumble upon us, huh? Sounds like a coincidence to me."

A guard calls out from below. "We already sent word to Castle Phoenix!"

"And Kyle can teleport. He'd have been here in an instant," RF continues.

The plague doctor laughs. "Wrong again. Before my coming, I had monsters watching from the woods. In fact, I guarantee they already eliminated your messenger."

"You're the one who's wrong," comes yet another voice. Snow appears, and with a man over her shoulder. He's limping, but otherwise looks all right. "Though wounded, he wasn't far from the others. I saw the harpies flying in the distance, I believe Peony would have sensed something was unwell in her part of the woods."

"... There are many of you," the Beastmistress mutters under her breath. Though her eyes are unseen, it looks as if she's taken notice of the ship out at sea. "It's no matter. Rabbit's Foot, was it? I'll sever your damned feet and wear them around my neck!"
