Chapter 34 by Artican Artican

Will there be repercussion to holo-Linda's deeds?

Linda finds she's gotten the attention of the senior officers

I reported for my duty shifts to find I had a new assignment. I asked Lieutenant Brandt what it was about but all she said was that I had been recommended by Lieutenant Greene for this task. It was an away mission to gather biological samples on a nearby planet we happened upon. I wouldn't have thought much of it other than I was getting more flying experience, but the fact that I was recommended over Ensign Davis still nipped at the back of my mind.

When I arrived at the shuttle bay, Lieutenant Greene was already waiting for me with Commander Kokuru. We traded pleasantries and I excused myself to prep the shuttle for launch. I had trouble looking the two in the eyes without thinking back to what my hologram had described about their last interactions. I think they had similar things on their minds, because I did notice a knowing nod between the two before Kokuru took her leave. It was a half hour ride for us to get to the surface. The first part of the ride was relatively quiet. I made the occasional system scan report and noted our trajectory. After a particularly long bout of silence, Greene spoke.

"I hear this is only your second away mission, ensign."

"Yes it is... "

"Well, you're bound to get many more under your belt by the time we get home," Green laughed. I nodded in agreement and then we returned to the awkward silence. Greene started up the conversation again, "We were all worried about you when we lost contact with the shuttle... you were there for a few days, right?"

"That's right."

"Must have been tough... you all alone with... Lt. Barbieri, right?" Greene asked. She seemed to be trying to lead the conversation somewhere and I had the feeling it was somewhere uncomfortable. I simply nodded and she continued to press. "I talked with Barbieri before we headed out, seems you two got close while you were stranded together."

I shrugged, "We had to pull together to survive. I think it would have happened naturally with any pair from the crew."

Greene nodded, "We do get along quite well, don't we? It's not that big of a surprise, we're Starfleet trained, we're a well oiled machine. Still, sometimes I think we've grown more open with each other since the virus."

"Sir?" I tilted my head curiously.

"Think about it. The virus opened up a side of us that under normal social customs we'd keep behind closed doors. With it's effects looming over us, we're more likely to engage in activities we might not try back home." Greene raised her eyebrow at me. "You and the lieutenant had a similar experience out on your own, didn't you?"

I could feel the heat of the blood rushing into my cheeks. From Lieutenant Greene's look, she could see it as well. She smiled at me while I remained at a loss for words.

"Don't worry, Brandt wouldn't spill on any details. I'm not going to **** you to admit anything you don't want to either."

I exhales softly.

"But... we're going to be alone together for a while to gather samples... if something were to happen between you and me..." Greene raised an eyebrow and left the statement unfinished. I swallowed dryly. She seemed to be confident in what she was doing and it made me all the more uncomfortable. Was she trying to seduce me or was there something else she was after? Did she somehow figure out my hologram was more than it was supposed to be and that I was aware of what she and Kokuru did with our personas? Holo-me was able to succeed in the training exercise suspiciously well... On the other hand, her behavior didn't appear to be one to test my knowledge of her activities; she seemed more interested in mine.

"So who made the first move? You or her?" Greene asked bluntly.

My cheeks flushed again, "Excuse me?"

"Come on, I couldn't last two days, let alone a week without some sort of gratification. You two had to have done something..."

I focused my attention to my console which was all the information she needed. She smiled. and stood up to walk toward me. She intentionally sashayed her hips seductively. She leaned over my console and murmured softly as she brushed my hair, "I'm more than willing to be the one to start things off, if you're willing..."

Holo-me had been regrettably eager to engage in all sorts of sexual activities. This, of course, would lead to the conclusion that I would lean towards this sort of behavior as well. Judging from how my hologram described the events of the battle training, Kokuru and Greene would be all too welcoming of a person with this demeanor...

Does Linda accept Lieutenant Greene's advances?
