Lind, the beginning

Lind was walking around the city's streets doing groceries. It was a beautiful day in the capital city. The sun sat high in a clear blue sky, people were happy and fruits and vegetables were plentiful in carts all around the marketplace. As Lind did her final shopping at a fruit carts, she then decided to go home and spend some alone time on her balcony, reading her favorite book and have a nice cup of tea. Just as she turned around, she felt something bump against her leg after which she heard a soft "doof". When she looked down, she saw a small girl sitting on the ground looking up at her with big, frightened eyes.

The girl suddenly shut her eyes tight as tears started to well up and yelled "S-s-sorry, ma'm! I didn't mean to bump in to you! Please don't hurt me!". But when nothing happened, the girl slowly opened her eyes and shook from Lind's face being so close to her as the latter had squatted in front of her. Then she saw the apple Lind held out to her and Lind's warm and friendly smile and stammered "F-f-for….me?" to which Lind nodded. Slowly and carefully the girl reached for the apple and grabbed it, when Lind's other hand suddenly moved over the girl's head. The girl immediately huddled in a small ball, but as she then feld Lind's hand softly patting her head, she relaxed again. She looked up at Lind, still causcious, taking a bit out of the apple. When Lind's face lit up of joy though, the girl started to smile too and she quickly started to scrunch like a kid that hadn't anything to eat for weeks.

Gladly such thing was out of the question in Pudenda and Lind slowly stood up and wanted to continue the journey home. Before she could though, something held on to her leather pants. When she looked down again, the girl looked up with big eyes and with bits of apple around her mouth, said "Thank you, ma'm.". Lind returned a friendly smile and a nod, but noticed the child didn't let go yet, after which it spoke again. "You are a valkyrie, aren't you?" to which Lind nodded again. The child continued "Whoooooohhh, you are strong AND kind! When I grow up I want to be just like you.". Lind turned back to the kid, kneeled down and hugged her. Then with a smile stood up and patted the kid again, who was now smiling widely too. The Lind waved farewell and the kid waved back, saying "By friendly lady!". Then she had to react quickly as another apple got tossed her way. In the 7th heaven, she waved back to Lind now even happier. Lind gave a wave over her shoulder before fading into the crowd.

When she got back home she gently put the grocery bags on the counter in the kitchen and started to boil some water. She then opened the doors to her balcony and felt a mild breeze flowed past. Her house was a 3nd floor apartment in a 3 story building just outside the central district. Her building was located between many of the samesort buildings with small streets between them. Luckily her balcony was built so that she always had the afternoon sun shining on it. She also loved the slightly bustling down in the small street below her.

After enjoying the warm sun rays, the cool breeze and the noises down in the streets, Lind stepped inside and walked to her bed where she had her book laying on the cupboard on the wall above it. She sat on the bed, reached and grabbed the book and then laid back down on the bad. The held the book above her head and looked at the cover. Ahhhh, good memories. She got this book from Faye for her birthday the first year they met and it instantly became her favorite. It had been a while since she read it last, so it was high time for another readthrough.
