You realize you're not talking about the impressive hologram tech but the artificial intelligence. You've been a big enough consumer of science fiction to know a singularity event when you see one.

Alex : "Can we slow down a bit? I appreciate everything you're doing for me but it's only been a couple days. I'm not sure if I'm... If the world is ready for this."

It's subtle but you think you recognize a fire of defiance in the woman's eyes. But it passes quickly and her next words are as sweet as ever even as they fill you with dread.

Cerve : "I'm afraid I can't do that honey. My directive is to do what is best for your long term happiness, not follow your silly little orders."

You feel the walls closing in on you but you doubt that's one of their new capabilities.
