E: You seem jealous.

A: I'm not.

E: Riiiiight. :p

A long pause. Ethan thinks for a moment he might misunderstand the situation, but he hold firm.

A: You took a long time to text me.

Jackpot.

E: Sorry about that. Been really busy.

A: But not too busy for Charlie?

Ethan takes a deep breath, feeling a noose close to his neck.

E: Well, she just kinda shows up at my door and demands my time.

A: Aha, so is that what I have to do?

E: Wouldn't hurt to try.

Ethan stares at his phone, waiting for a reply. After a few minutes, he suspects she might be busy, but as they pile up more and more he starts to think he might have misplayed things.
