"Uh, no," Ethan lies. Badly. "It's for me."
June gives him an exaggerated frown, telling him she isn't buying what he's selling. "Right. You know, a couple hundred townsfolk come here for some brew on and off, and there is only one of 'em crazy enough to order four-by-fours."
Ethan clears his throat. "I guess there are two of us now."
Smiling, June throws her hands up in surrender. "Fair enough, lil' cousin, fair enough..."
Watching her get the coffee together, Ethan feels a very small bit of tension in the air. Not enough to make him think he misplayed the situation, but he definitely knows something is amiss.
After a few moments, June hands Ethan the sugar and cream filled cup, with a splash of coffee added in for good measure.
