Liara wakes up in the medbay

“Liara! Liara, stay with me! Stay with me, please! Oh God! Help! Please! Help! Liara… I’m here…”

Liara felt distant. She felt numb. She didn’t know what was happening. She couldn’t feel anything. What did Brooks do to her? What was that thing she injected in her? Liara felt herself fading in and out. Everything echoed around her.

“Doctor, please… do what you can… I know you’re out of sorts… but if anyone can do it, it’s you…”

“How did this happen? How could I be so stupid? Liara… I’m so sorry…”

Liara slowly stirred. Her eyes opened. She recognized the medbay. She slowly moved her head left and right and found Miranda and Ashley were also next to her but they were knocked out cold… it seemed that whatever Brooks did to her… she also did to Miranda and Ashley…

“She’s waking,” Dr Chakwas said. “Vital signs are stabilizing. She’ll be okay…”

Liara’s vision was suddenly filled with Shepard’s face. Shepard’s very concerned and very naked face. “Liara… please…”

“Shepard…. ugh…. S-shepard. I…”

“I’m so sorry,” they said at the same time.

They looked at each other surprised. “I’ll give you two a moment,” Dr Chakwas said. “Not too long, I’ll need to make sure everything is okay. 5 minutes. That’s all I can give you.”

Shepard nodded. “Thank you.”

Karin walked out leaving Liara alone with Shepard… and also Miranda and Ashley’s **** bodies…
