Chapter 46 by Almax Almax

Here goes!

Lexi's weekend sickness song!

She begins strumming at her guitar, getting a nice melodic instrumental going for a few seconds before she starts singing. As she strums, her eyes are closed and her face wears a wide smile, and she sways quickly from side to side. When she starts singing, she looks right at you, keeping her wide smile.

"O-ver the week-end,
a-way from all my friends.
I caught a cold that-a just-a didn't end,
I was
sat there think-king "enough is enough".
Stuck in my bed,
sore throat and a cough.

One cold breeze,
is what gave me a sneeze,
I shoulda been more careful,
to a-VOID! the sniffle,
but locked in bed I had one thought.
It kept me going and it got me hot,
it was you.
.....
Do-do-do.
"

Lexi leans forward off the speaker, reaching out with one hand as if to boop you on the nose, but between her being on top of the stage and the gigantic speaker while you're at ground level, it's not even close. She even nearly falls off the speaker, but she catches herself, and sits back up with a delightful laugh before getting right back into it.

"Next time that I'm like this,
confined in my bed.
It won't be like this,
where I'm feeling dead.
I'll wake up and when I blink and lift my weary head,
I'll see a
STACKED SHORT {if Speed >8}FIT{elseif Strength >17}STRONG{else}CUTE{endif} GIRL BESIDE ME THAT I'VE WED!
"

She gives the guitar a few fast dramatic strums to end the song off, before kicking up her feet and leaning back in her sitting position on the speaker, giggling.

"It's a work in progress, I got lazy. Did you like it?"

You did! It sounded pretty stellar, despite being written on such short notice, and Lexi's singing voice wasn't even that badly effected by her partially-blocked nose. You'd for sure listen to that, given a chance! Except it's still pretty optimistic of her to think that the two of you will be married next time she's sick, or even married eventually at all, since you aren't really thinking about that kind of stuff yet.... though, maybe she wasn't even actually talking about you, and you're just being egotistical. Also, those sweets made for a really nice combo.

You give her your honest review, and it seems to please her immensely. When you finish, she leans back on the speaker again, giving the guitar a few more quick strums.

"Wooooo!! She liked it!" She shouts out, before coming back forward into a regular sitting position and laughing again. You can't help but smile at the sight. Her energy can be really infectious.

Lexi drops down from the speaker and sets her guitar down on the stage, before putting both palms against one of the massive speakers and starting to wheel it off to the side of the stage again.

"Alright dude, I picked the lock to the theatre doors earlier, so you can head out that way." She says. "I should pack the rest of this away before one of us gets in trouble. Don't worry about needing to help, wheels make everything easier. Praise be to Caveman Michael."

You give her a happy goodbye, then head out towards the door, satisfied with that couple-of-minutes engagement and ready to spend the rest of your evening however you see fit before it's sleepy time. On your way out, you hear the squeak of the plastic wheels under the giant speaker, and Lexi quietly singing the chorus of another song to herself as she goes about the pack up.

"Chicken soooouuupp~
Oh, chicken sooou-uupp~~
Makes me better,
even better when I get it from yooouuu~~
"

That was a cool little detour.
