Letters
The defeat of the marauder knight was a harsh lesson for all the scoundrels pillaging the countryside - and a pleasant exercise for me. His remaining henchmen immediately laid down their weapons and offered their servitude. How admirably they crave retribution. I could give them a second chance and recruit them - on the other hand, I should satisfy the vengeance of the villagers and make an example that could reinforce my reign.
I'll make my decision in the morning, and hopefully the correct one. I know which you'd make. I wish you were here I can think more clearly when you're around me. Why do you not come to me? My bed feels cold without you.
Rebuilding proved to be an ungrateful undertaking. The villagers craved freedom so badly, yet at the first sign of trouble, they cry for my help. How ironic. Even worse, they can't stop bothering me about a foreboding place they call the Thornsnare Grove. Some of them want to rebuild the woodsmen's cabins and start work once more. Others wish only to leave it be as they think it will prevent unholy powers from seeping into the village. If I had a third option I'd burn that forset to the ground and be done with this place.
My mood is showing as you read these letters forgive me I'm exhausted. Speaking of I have heard no reply from you that of late.
