Nobles or not you have to show hospitality to your guests and so you did.

Upon confirmation of their stay Emma's face and her maid light up, it's like they have been through numerous difficulties and now they found a safe haven from their long travels. This didn't go unnoticed, nonetheless this means nothing if they have ill intentions to you or confirmation of what they say is true.

Still you made your choice and instructed the guards to let them in and carry their bags for them.

Emma didn't say a word as the staff of the mansion did as you ordered, instead you saw the maid with her bowed in your presence while her lady went ahead.

"Thank you for the hospitality, I do wish we don't bother you." Her voice was meek and timid, like someone who grew up in a strict environment where her will is denied, constantly beaten by others, was it her lady who did the action or was it someone else you ponder.

Still she seems comfortable enough with her lady, the master Emma, which adds more questions than answers to you. Nonetheless you pushed those suspicions for now you have guests and they should be accommodated. This may not be the best time for answers.

The staff has given them a modest guest room, spacious and comfortable, Emma seems elated to have some privacy and the security of a room, while her maid immediately begins arranging their clothes.

You put little attention to their actions but even so you did catch one little detail, while her clothes are lavish and expensive and the fact they seemed to be tailored for her and only her which adds proof of her claim they are only a few, not even reaching a dozen...

Regardless you left the two ladies in their room giving them a breather that they enjoyed.

Hours passed and they never left the room you gave them, this fueled your suspicion. They didn't start a conversation with you or asked around only staying in a single room. You hated that feeling, lingering questions that were desperately in need of answering. Yet asking them directly might give them the wrong idea or worst tip them off, then again if what you're only aiming for is the security of your mansion and staff then it would be more than justified... Or at least since they rudely refused to elaborate further it gives you some semblance of right that you should be safe and eavesdrop on their conversation to find out answer your questions and sate your curiosity while your at it.

Making sure that your employees are no longer in sight you press your ears on the door, making it easier to hear the two ladies's conversation on the other side.

"My lady forgive me for doubting your decisions but is this really our best course of action?" You heard a soft gentle tone, indicating that it came from the maid.

"Doubt all you want Sophie but my decision is not that of rash thinking, I need to regain our fortune that my father wasted and the fame he slandered..." The voice no doubt came from Emma her rather haughty sentences are a good mark of that. You smile slightly learning that the maid's name is Sophie.

"Besides would you rather sleep in the streets? We already spent the last of our money just to get here, I don't want to remind you what horrors that can befall us if we don't have a house to sleep upon?"

"But what if he found out the truth?" Sophie said worriedly, her voice became a bit tensed signaling a hint of horror.

"There's many noble who show face of their title but in close doors... They let loose their most depraved desires, violating the flesh of those they fancy, if by chance he found out the truth that we lost your title and money he might use it as leverage to justify what ever sick fantasies he have."

You felt your heart sank, this was completely different from what you expected and the things that dwelled in within one's suspicion. Many did come in mind as they could be pretending to be noble and maid so they can steal from you or some complicated operation to sabotage and slander you but what you discover is utterly contrasting on what you originally have in mind.

What you now have are two women who are down on their luck and **** to any kind of protection and assistance the question is will you provide them for free or ask for compensation or more importantly what kind of said compensation? Or maybe help them to regain their former glory and position.

The train of thoughts circling was halted as the door of the room slowly open, was it that they didn't close it properly or you have already spin the nob but unable to feel the metal as your too caught up in your thinking. Regardless your now exposed to the two women who eyed you suspiciously.

Without thinking or could it be in the spur of the moment you made a mistake to speak the truth despite how ominous it sounds.

"I heard everything." You said and while it was not your intention it caused the two women to hug each other, fear in their eyes as it's clear they are now thinking what you could do to them or more accurately the negative ones. For they are now **** in your mansion and whatever actions you wish to do upon them. May it be good or bad.
