Let Vulva decide

Faye pondered over everything in her mind. She couldn't think of one thing she really desired. "I'm not sure what to ask for" she finally told Vulva. "Power? I have power. It's enough for me. If I ruled the world, I would probably lose my own soul. Riches untold? My eight sisters are my riches. They are worth more than any pile of gold, or all the gold in the world. There are a lot of things gold can't buy. We all want happiness, and I found that with my eight sisters as well. I think I will let you decide what give me."

Vulva and Malaetol were both surprised at Faye's answers. It was almost like they expected her to be greedy, thirsty, and hungry with earthly desires that other humans would never pass up. "Since you did not ask for gold," Vulva began, " you shall have plenty of it, and shall never have a hold on you. Since you did not ask for power, every earthly kingdom will aknowledge your wisdom and power. Many will come from miles around to pay tribute, and to listen to your great wisdom. The final gift I will bestow upon you is eternal youth and beauty. I also give this gift to your eight sisters, who will always be with you. Finally, I will give you one more gift. My High Priestess, Malaetol herself. She is wise well beyond her years. She can also perform impossible feats of what you humans call magic. I am entrusting her to watch over you, and you to watch over her. I can see the desire in her eyes when she looks at you."

Malaetol threw back her fiery mane of red hair, and looked at Vulva in shock. "But Goddess, I am your High Priestess! I can't leave you!"

Vulva smiled at her. "You can, and you will. It is time for you to live instead of being cooped up with me. I will find another High Priestess. Go and live the life you never had a chance to live."

Faye smiled at the young and beautiful version of Malaetol. She definitely liked what she saw. Then she got down on one knee before Vulva. "I humbly accept these gifts you've offered me. Thank you Goddess."

The Goddess then summoned the Draugar carrying their weapons and armor. She blessed each one with a special gift. But when she came to Faye's trusty sword, she broke it over her knee. "This is not a sword that is fitting for you to wield." From somewhere in the altar she pulled out a sword that flashed bright as day. She held it aloft. "This is the sword of truth, justice, and knowledge. This is the great sword Excalibur." She held it out to Faye with both hands. "It is now yours, and will be yours until the day you die."

Faye took the sword in her hands. It seemed as light as a feather, unlike her original sword. She brandished it, and it flashed like lightning throughout the womb. "Thank you Goddess. I will cherish it as long as I live." She bowed before Vulva again.

"Thank you Virgin Queen for assisting in my rebirth" Vulva caressed the side of Faye's face. "Now go! There is much work ahead of you, and I must see how the world has unfolded since I last walked on it. I bid you all farewell, but not forever."
