Chapter 5 by Heedlum Heedlum

He open the window to...

Let Hedwig in.

"Hey there girl. Sorry if you've been waiting long." Harry said, giving the snowy owl a loving pet before freeing her of the letters and putting her in her cage to rest. She in turn gave him a gentle nip on the finger, telling Harry he - err, well... she - was either forgiven or hadn't kept the owl locked out in the muggy summer night air for long enough to earn her ire.

Taking up the letters, Harry was surprised to find them all from Luna Lovegood. Opening them up to find the oldest to read first, said surprise turned to confusion when at a glance, he found all but one to be exact copies. Mentally shrugging, he picked one that was the same as the others except for some hastily written looking extra lines at the bottom.

" Dear Harry.

I woke just now knowing I needed to write to you. I don't feel like anything has gone wrong, but I know something has happened. Please write back soon.

With Care,

Luna

P.S. If you're wondering why there's more then one of this letter, I remembered that story you told about Dobby blocking your mail. So to be on the safe side in case something similar happens again, I made copies to send them by different birds. But before I could go over to The Burrow to ask Ginny if they still had any ducks, Hedwig showed up and seemed very cross with me over the idea of anyone but her delivering your mail, so I just let her have them all. It's never a good idea get on an owls bad side and at least this way if it rains while she's flying, the copies should keep at least one letter from being ruined."

Harry couldn't help but grin at the post script. Knowing Luna wouldn't mind, Harry flipped the letter over to jot down a quick but nondescript reply on the back, confirming that yes, something had happened but suggesting it might be better to explain things in person rather then by mail and asking if they could meet up somewhere.

That done, Harry tried to leave the letter on his desk, thinking it better to let Hedwig have a rest before making another delivery so soon. But before he had a chance to stop her, said owl was out the window with letter in claw.

Shaking her head, Harry turned away from the window and...

And what?
