Let's see...

There's no mistaking...there, in the dirt, is a bare human footprint.

This just gets weirder and weirder. Here you are wondering what kind of animals might be on this planet, and you find a clear indication of not just intelligent life, but HUMAN life as well.

This shouldn't be possible, you think to yourself. It goes against everything we've been taught to think about the universe. How can people be here?

Maybe its not "people" at all; maybe someone else found this planet and is in the same situation as you are. Maybe they've been in this situation for a very long time, so much that their foot wear has worn out and God knows what else.

Talk about "not encouraging".

On the other hand, if the footprint belongs to an indigenous life form, then it looks as though they may not be so sophisticated, running around barefoot and all. You wonder what sort of temperament such a creature...such an "individual", might possess. Would they be hostile? Since you can't really prepare, it helps to have a single-charge blaster in your hand.

In any case, the footprints look to go on for a bit. You follow them for a few seconds, only to find that they seem to disappear into the jungle off the path. Right in front of a bush filled with...

Not possible...

Strawberries?!? You can;t believe it. You'd think you'd be used to it by now, but this planet continuously astounds you with its uncanny similarities to earth.

You pick one immediately. It looks like a strawberry. Smells like a strawberry. But does it taste like a strawberry?

There's no way you can tell whether or not this piece of fruit is good to eat. You consider the possibilities:

So far, everything has been the same way its bee on earth; breathable air, practically identical plant life, you can clearly hear the sounds of animals all around...why shouldn't a strawberry be a strawberry?

On the other hand, it IS an alien world, and no matter how similar it may seem to earth, it isn't earth. Can you take a chance on something like this? You also notice the footprints stop at the bush, yet none of the berries seem touched.

But for all you know, they came along, picked all the berries, only for them to grow back before you found it. The footprint seemed fresh, but who knows, maybe things grow a lot faster here than on earth?

The veritable earthquake in your stomach beckons you to take a bite of the berry.
