Lesson Five: Fire

You snapped your fingers as the fire students sat slowly falling asleep form boredom by the looks of it before you snapped your fingers as a small floating green flame appeared near your shoulder.“Alright last but not least fire magic the most volatile but most fun element to use of the elements.”

You sat back on a stone stool your formed having tired of standing up before speaking. “Fire ie the element of life just like plant and life magic it is wild and mist controlled lest it rampage and consume everything. The key to mastering fire magic is restraint and control.”

You opened up your hand watching the green flame land on the palm of your hand it neither consumed nor burned your hand before you looked to your charges to see them look at you on awe. “Can anyone answer why this flame is green instead of say the normal red, orange, and yellow colors?” You looked around only to see confusion in your fire students before you spoke.

“Fire requires three things to live, heat, oxygen and fuel. These three aspects must be balanced too much fuel you burn yourself and everything around you, too much oxygen the fire suffocates no heat no spark no fire. This is what you folks learned in class however advanced pyromancers often channel a certain energy into fire for example I am adept at necromancy using necrotic magic I am replacing the fuel which would normally be mana with necrotic energy hence the green flame.”

“However if I switch back to normal mana.” You held the flame up as it slowly began to change to a regular colored flame once again. “Its now a normal colored flame but if you increase the heat you expel then this happens.”

You said as the flame began to take on a blue color as it began to become hotter then before. “Control is important this holds true for all the elements but with Fire restraint is also required because of its destructive potential.” You said as the small flame reverted back to its normal color.

“Now for your exercise I want you to try and maintain a small flame in the palm of your hand for a while as students of the flame you have to get used to your mana literally burning and have to learn to control the burn rate lest you burn through your mana reserves too fast and pass out.” You said closing your hand snuffing the flame.
