Chapter 5 by MissTerius

Where to now?

Lectures

Ashe was a bio-med student and a damn good one at that, acing pretty much every test, lab, and paper, since the start of semester. Naturally this meant you didn’t share any classes, tutorials either. Not that this troubled your friendship, which was forged in the fires of Dungeons and Dragons and movie marathons.

You knew she had classes today - despite knowing absolutely nothing about biology or medicine beyond high school grade teaching, they were large enough groups apparently and you could probably just sit quietly and blend in. Fingers crossed your intimate knowledge of mitochondria could save a life on the operating table.

So you packed her shopper-bag with notebooks and pens, scavenged high and low from the mountains of discarded takeout boxes to the valley of genshin impact memorabilia, and set off towards campus. Playing the part of Ash was feeling more and more natural - adjusting to her height, hips, and the countless other minute differences that made a person their own.

At one point you even found yourself reflexively humming an anime opening tune, the kind of thing Ash did to amuse herself. And it was amusing, it was fun. Being Ash had thus far been many things, but as the line between roleplay and personhood began to blur by the act of walking a mile in her literal sneakers... it was fun.

You arrived on Campus not long before 3pm, hundreds of other students swirled about you, across colourful gardens and down cleanly halls. And it was only then you realised you had no clue where Ash’s classes were.

Fortunately a friendly face wasn’t far away.

who comes up to help?
