Laurie's mum tracks her down to her hotel

I drove as far as I reasonably could until I got to Kettering, where I pulled in to the nearest Premier Inn and checked in for the night.

I didn't know what I was going to do, but I knew I had made the right decision as I plopped into bed, grateful for the full set of clothes I was wearing. I didn't have a job, but I thought I could maybe get some menial work as a garage. Hell, I could probably even hitch on a caravan... they'd probably be better to me than mum trying to get me naked.

As my thoughts were floating around in my head, I heard a knock on the door. I opened it and saw my mother.

"Laurie!" she said quite disappointed in me, "what on Earth has got into you?"

"Mum!" I shouted out, "what are you doing here?"

"I looked up where your phone was, silly!" she explained, "Now come on, what's the meaning of this?"

"Let's just say I have creative differences with you, that's all..." I tried to explain myself.

"Nonsense!" mum wasn't having any of it, "you've already paid for this room, but I'll be sleeping with you tonight, and tomorrow we're going back home to discuss this matter further."
