Laughed at

As the laughter died down, one of Jade's friend's noticed Lauren's embarrassment.

"Aw guys, she's embarrassed!" They pointed out.

"Aw, it's okay!" One of the girl's patted Lauren shoulder. "There's nothing to be embarrassed about, you're a very pretty girl!"

Lauren huffed indignantly. The last thing she needed was to be condescended to!

"Hey, I don't think she's just red because she's embarrassed." One of the guys pointed out.

It was true: Lauren's extremely pale exposed skin was turning pink under the excessive sun and heat.
