Lat or lats

So I needed a generic currency but didn't want to use credits. So lat. Yeah it's named after latnum from Star trek ds9. But my concept is different. Instead of a gold bar with a liquid in it. It's a flat card made out of some sort of rare sci fi bullshit metal ore. If any one has any idea what the metal should be called just send me a message. If it sounds good I'll update this.
