Lady Vessa disappears

Three more months pass and you hear some disturbing news at court. It would seem as if Lady Vessa has disappeared. Nobody knows where she went or even saw her leave. A full search by Sir Garret has revealed that all of her stuff: Books, clothes, even precious belongings have been left alone. You open a full investigation and order the entire castle to be searched from top to bottom.

After court, you head back to your room where Queen Marissa has taken to stay for the remaining duration of her pregnancy, attended by Sarah. You walk in looking stressed and Marissa eyes you and sits up. She's visibly pregnant now, her belly bulging with your unborn heir "what's wrong? rough day at work?"

You sigh, "Lady Vessa has disappeared. Nobody knows where she's gone or what happened to her. It looks as if she's just fallen off the face of the earth."

Marissa smiles sadistically, "That cow. It's good that she's gone. It means that she can't out my true nature."

You eye her carefully, "Did you have anything to do with her disappearance?"

She gasps, "Why would you ever suggest such a ridiculous thing!" Her gasp was definitely fake. You have lived with her long enough to tell that. You're not sure what she's done with Lady Vessa or where, but you're not sure you want to know. Considering what she really is, you're not really sure if you want to push the issue anyway. She shrugs, "I suggest not appointing another Court Mage until we find one more sympathetic to our union."

No sane mage would ever hide a demon, "what if we don't find one?"

Her expression darkens, "Then we never appoint one. My magic is powerful enough to protect you, Love."

Part of you doesn't like that idea, but the other part of you tells you that she's probably right.

The remaining months of Marissa's pregnancy goes without issue or news of Lady Vessa. She stumbles one day as she suddenly goes into labor. The Queen is taken off to the hospital wing of the castle where nurses tend to her. You stay outside and wait patiently to see who your first child would be.
