Chapter 6 by haileytraynor haileytraynor

Kyrie

Kyrie found herself in a bit of a tough spot. She had been noticed by both Avalanche and Shinra, and if she didn't come up with a way to clear her name with one or the other, she would really be in deep shit.

She frantically walked through the maze of wreckage that was the Sector 5 slums, her mind racing about what to do. She entered the church, hoping to get some peace of mind, when she noticed a mass of black clothing laying in the center of the flower bed.

"What in the world...?" Kyrie muttered as she got closer to the flowers to get a better idea of what she was looking at. She slowly started to identify a mess of spiky yellow hair, black combat gear, and the biggest sword she had ever seen. His eyes were closed, and from the mess surrounding him, it looked like he come down from way above and crashed here quite some time ago.

Confused, Kyrie stared straight up and noticed a skyline in the church's ceiling that wasn't there the last time she had stopped by. "Where did you fall from?" she questioned, not expecting an answer.

As her mind was trying to work out the logistics of his survival from the fall, another thought entered her mind: Maybe, just maybe, if she was able to sway the public opinion of Avalanche even further against them, then maybe Shinra would be more interested in dealing with that conflict than they would be with taking care of her. But how to do it?

'I barely have enough to gil to gather enough resources for this kind of plan...' Kyrie admitted to herself, having spent pretty all of her savings at that time riding various public transports through Midgar in an attempt to escape both of her pursuers. It had worked so far, but she was running in fumes at this point, and needed a way to keep going.

Kyrie then took another look at the man laying in the flower bed and got curious. "Hmm..." She picked up his arm and let it drop, landing on the floor of the church with a thud. "Man, he is out," she exclaimed. "He's not gonna be waking up for a while..." she put her hand on her chin and a mischievous thought ran through her head. "I'm sure he wouldn't mind. After all, he's not using his stuff right now..."
