An inspiring detective

After the exchange at the breeder's quarters Kyoko Kirigiri, the prodigy of the Kirigiri detectives' family was now in possession of the notebook. Her suspicions had raised as she had witnessed the scenes unfold. Although such arbitrary actions were possible in this kind of love island setting as everyone of the students had found themselves in, it was unlikely that they would occur in this specific way - thus had the detective started her research.

She had started the investigation when she saw the mechanic running around. Asking him, she had learned of Sonia Nevermind's sudden change of heart regarding her relationship status. That had raised Kyoko's suspicions of some sort of foul play; she had begun following the mechanic all the way to the supermarket where it happened.

Kyoko eased her pace and breathed in the cool night air, and stopped to investigate the notebook. From the outside it looked not different from some of her own notebooks she had used on her cases, only there was a rather conspicuous title to it: "Sexnote". Kyoko started getting images in her head of the boys constructing some game to possibly list off their sexual feats on paper. Such a possibility existed but Kyoko had to look deeper.

Turning the pages she saw nothing but whiteness covering the sheets, but it didn't mean much to her. She would have to study it further and perhaps use a chemical process to bring out whatever means the people responsible have used to hide the text. She was sure there was text hiding, why else keep the notebook in such high value?

Kyoko hurried along to her cabin located by the beach and was careful not to wake up the other residents of the hut - she had, despite applying for it, not gotten a personal cabin. She went to her room where she had organized a decent enough research table and all the knowledge she had managed to find on the island.

She took a reagent and mixed it with another and let them boil as she attempted to take a page out for a more neat research. Only she couldn't rip a page out as hard as she tried. It was impossibly hard and she had to result to using scissors which would just fold the paper, not cutting through anything.

It made Kyoko extremely suspicious and when the solution was ready, she applied a drop on the page - only for nothing to happen. "I-impossible... this..." She whispered and tried it on a piece of paper with invisible ink - the text instantly showing. She took a blacklight and went over the pages but found nothing and started getting a headache: "What is the secret? Dammit..." She turned it around and checked the pages carefully under a magnifying glass but found nothing. Then she took a pencil and wrote her name on a page and stared at it. It stuck perfectly and Kyoko couldn't help but feel dumbstruck.

"What's the purpose of this? Sex... what? No pages have been ripped... It served as the cause for these sexual interactions lately. I can't understand it. But perhaps..." She steadied her hand and wrote in a neat handwriting: "Is it true that Kyoko Kirigiri will have sex with Makoto Naegi in the future?"

She sighed deeply and played with her braid - perhaps it was a new book and she had mistaken it for the one used. But the pages so tough made her suspect a more supernatural alternative. If it was in fact a magical artifact, knowledge would be what she would ask from a book first and foremost. The worst that could happen is that nothing happened and at best she actually got an answer to the question plaguing her mind.

Then the words started changing. Some of them disappeared leaving: "Kyoko Kirigiri will have sex with Makoto Naegi" Kyoko felt her face growing red and she shut the notebook. "H-how p-peculiar... indeed..." She left the notebook alone and tried to shake the dirty thoughts from her head, the study was not supposed to go this personal and she felt a little disappointed in herself. Then she heard a soft voice from the doorway: "K-Kyoko? Are you awake? I can see a light..." It was... it was Makoto's voice.
