April was looking over an old cookbook she had found in the shop and trying not to burn anything. On the counter, a knife was dicing onions, floating bottles were pouring sauce ingredients into a bowl and pork was sizzling on a pan. The red-head had become a natural with her telekinetic abilities after all these years.

Her t-phone - the latest model that came with a touchscreen - went off. The screen showed the picture of a humanoid snake doing a sexy pose, or as sexy a pose you can accomplish without legs, as the jingle rang.

"Hello?"

"Hey koibito," said the other person on the line.

"Hey Karai. I'm fixing Shogayaki and I need my taste-tester."

"So you invited Casey then?"

"Ha ha. When are you coming home?"

"We've been breaking in the rookies and we're on the last one, so we won't be long. Leo says hi by the way."

With the Shredder dead, the Kraang neutralized, the Triceratons nuked, supervillains arrested and mutagen confiscated, things have slown down over the last few years. Sure there was the occasional interdimensional portal or unsealed evil from a can that the Hamato Clan had to stop, but it was a cake walk after everything they've been through.

While Karai would sometime go to Japan to take care of business there, she had essentially made New York the new Foot Clan's headquarters. Karai had made a deal with Bishop and now the Foot Clan operates in league with the Earth Protection ****, ensuring Earth's safety on the street level. That meant legitimate funding and a cause to bring honor to the Foot.

But one of the biggest changes for everyone, something no one saw coming, was when Karai and April started dating.

It started when Karai brought sake to April's 18th birthday. One thing led to another and a tipsy Karai wound up kissing April. Things were awkward for the two of them, but the two of them grew closer. First they hung out more often. Then they started dating. Then they went steady

When they told the guys, reactions were mixed to say the least. Leo congratulated them, Raphael was apathetic, Casey was conflicted, Donnie was devastated and Mikey acted like he knew the whole time.

When the two were 21, they were married. April in a western wedding dress, Karai in a kimono, throwing their wedding at the old O'Neil cabin so that their many mutant friends could attend, and because that was where Splinter was.
They wished he could see his daughter and surrogate daughter on their special day.
