Kobolds

Kobolds are genetically related to dragons, possibly through breeding with goblins. Similar to goblins, they have adapted to life in caves. With large eyes, a strong sense of smell, lighter bones, and flexible muscles, which make them good at climbing and scrambling. They form strong social bonds. They have scales, claws and tails but no glands in their throat for a breath weapon. They have the reserve genes for wings, but unlike dragonborn, these often end up functional. This is due to the kobold's small size and lower weight-to-body mass ratio.
