Kobold hunt

"Kobolds," Fendis said, "easy prey."

They brought the poster over to Agatha, who raised an eyebrow skeptically. "You girls sure you're ready for this? Those buggers are more clever than you'd think."

Fendis and Rosa nodded eagerly, Sigrid and Alis joining in after a moment. "Alright," Agatha said, "one second, let me grab a map. It'll be a bit of a hike once you get off the road, so if have to set up camp just be sure to have someone keeping watch. They've been coming down from the hills for a couple weeks now, poaching livestock and ransacking houses. We're not sure how many there are, could be anywhere from a dozen to almost a hundred. You don't have to kill 'em all, just do a good enough job chasing them off that they don't come back. Got it?"

"Yes, thank you," Alis said. The four of them left the guild hall, heading back over to their cart. The sun was still high, but with the distance they would have to travel it'd be night by the time they arrived, and stumbling around the hills in the dark with kobolds lurking nearby was a recipe for disaster. They could spend the day in town and leave first thing in the morning, but on top of seeming like a bit of an anticlimactic end to their first day as adventurers, they would most likely still have to camp in the wilderness on the way back.

It wasn't like they had much reason to hang around for long; most of their money was earmarked for lodgings and supplies, and Fendis and Rosa had already spent the morning maintaining their equipment while Sigrid studied and Alis meditated.

"So, should we head on out? Or is there anything else we need first?"
