Knock

*Bang* *Bang* *Bang*

You knock loud enough to hopefully be heard over the sound of the pulsating music.

After a second, the music stops and you hear Kendra's somewhat panicked voice call out from on the other side of the door. "Connor?"

"Yeah." You reply. "Is everything okay in there? The door's locked." You wriggle the door handle to show that it's locked.

"Yes, everything's fine! Just give me a second to um... put away a couple of things." Kendra replies.

Pressing your ear to the door you hear the faint sound of movement and the snapping of elastic.

Soon after, the light from the keyhole disappears and the door swings open to reveal your stepmother looking flushed and slightly out of breath wearing a form hugging sports bra and pair of shorts.

"Hi honey. I guess the cat's out of the bag now. As you can probably already tell, I've converted the garage into a home gym! I was just giving it a test drive before you knocked. Everything's just how I wanted it." You stepmother beams at you, looking super proud of herself.

"That's so great mom." You praise, looking around the room, honestly impressed by how good of a job she's done.

"You're welcome to join me sometime?" Kendra offers. "But, if the door is locked it's just because I'm in the zone and don't want to be interrupted." Your stepmother tries to look nonchalant, but you can tell that she's gauging your reaction.

"That would be nice and yeah, no problem! This is your temple." You laugh and your stepmother relaxes somewhat, looking relieved.

"Great! Now, let me give you a tour of the place." Your stepmother loops her arm around yours and guides you around all of the equipment, telling you what they do and how to use them. You can't help but notice that most of the machines and set-ups seem to be geared towards cardio and lower body workouts.

After your tour, Kendra leads you back to the door and you take the hint and leave so that she can finish her workout. She farewells you cheerily before closing the door and locking it behind you.
