Kings Arrival

“We are taking a boat back to Kings Landing.” Aegon’s face had frustration marked on every curve. Lyanna rode beside him on horseback as the royal progress moved along the Kingsroad.

“I knew you would see my point of view. To bad you could not see it beforehand.” Lyanna said.

Aegon groaned at the taunting of his stepmother. To put it simply, the royal families reception at the twins was rotten the moment they arrived. The Frey household had become so over crowded, Aegon’s patience had hung by a thread as many offers of squires and marriages were offered to the king and the royal family. Aegon had to offer double the usual pay for the crossing so that the late lord Walder Frey to control his house.

“I much preferred the company of lord Howland Reed. Much more welcoming.” Lyanna commented.

“You two go way back.” Aegon said.

“The tourney of Harrenhal, that was an eventful day. The day I fell in love with your father.”

“And when you knocked those three knights on their asses.” Aegon commented.

Lyanna lips smirked. “I have no idea what your talking about.”

“Don’t play games, You were the knight of the laughing tree.”

“And where is your proof?”

“You defended Howland from those three squires. Than the knights of those same squires just so happen to lose to a strange knight that disappeared without finishing the tourney.”

“What a strange coincidence, it still proves nothing.” Lyanna smiled.

“One of these days your going to tell me the truth.” Aegon promised.

“And how are you going to accomplish this exactly.” Lyanna asked.

“Let’s just say theirs gonna be allot of Arbor Wine involved.” Aegon joked and Lyanna started laughing.

“Careful egg, you may regret making that challenge.”

——Jaehaerys POV——

The winter prince rode beside his violet eyed and silver haired aunt. Said hair almost blended into the summer snows that fell along their path. Jon admired the beauty of his Valyrian blooded aunt. Maybe to much as Dany started to look back at him.

“You ok Jon?” She asked him. Jon broke himself from his trance.

“Yeah...I’m fine, weary of traveling. Could have gotten to Winterfell in half the time it’s taking us now.” He says. The two look back for a brief moment seeing Aegon and Lyanna as well as the thousands of knights, journeymen, and others who had come to seek the kings favor.

“How are you feeling?” Jon asked his aunt.

“I’m better when I’m with you and Aegon.” She said with a smile that warmed Jon’s heart. “But... a part of me still feels hurt by my brothers actions. What can I do to free him of his rage?”

Jon’s smile began to fade. Just the slight mention of Viserys angered the prince. He would never forgive him for the hell he put his aunt through with his violent outbursts. But Jon did not want to say anything provoking, he new that despite his actions, Dany cared for her brother.

“Jon...I can see Winterfell, we finally made it!” Dany said happily, Quickening the pace of her horse. The prince didn’t have a chance to finish his words. But he smiled once again to see the excitement and joy on his aunts face.

To Jaehaerys, seeing her smile in the end made the journey bearable.

——Aegon POV ——

Aegon looked upon the walls of Winterfell from the hill along the Kingsroad. This would be his second stay at winterfell. The first time was during his fathers progress to the north. Aegon was only a young boy at the time. So was Lord Starks son Robb. Aegon left winterfell a prince an now returns a king.

Aegon and the royal family make their way to the castle. Followed along with the Kingsguard, the king passed through Wintertown and met with villagers and men of arms watching them from along the road. All staring at them with no cheers or hate, just silence. A contrast from the reception from Kings Landing.

But finally after a month of travel, The king rode through the gates of winterfell. At the great fortresses massive courtyard, The lord himself, Eddard Stark and his household looked upon Aegon’s arrival and bent their knee to him. The dragon king dismounted his horse to approach the lord himself and offered his hand to the knelt lord.

“Lord Stark, it is an honor to step into your home once again.”

“The honor is all mine your grace, winterfell is yours.” Said Eddard as the two shook hands. Aegon looked to the lords left and met the lady of winterfell, Catelyn Stark. She was truly of house Tully of Riverrun, her auburn hair and blue eyes were a true indication to such. Aegon took her right hand and kissed it.

“I had heard the news of your father, I pray to the gods for Lord Hoster’s health.“ said the king.

“Thank you your grace, your words are heartwarming.” Catelyn smiled.

Beside cat Hugging her leg was a young boy who shared her looks. From talks with his brother Jaehaerys, the youngest was Rickon Stark.

“You look just like your mother.” The king said to the boy. Who only responded by hiding behind his mother. Cat mumbled to not be so shy. But the king than went to the lord right and met eye to eye with the eldest son and heir to winterfell.

“Robb, it’s been a long time.”

“So it has your grace.” The two men shook hands. But both of them strengthened their grips to test the strength of the other. Eventually Aegon withdrew with a sore hand and Robb only smugged.

Aegon moved on from the tense reunion and met the eyes of a very beautiful woman. With the same looks as her mother along with high cheek bones and a mature female figure that looked tall and graceful. This is Sansa Stark, the first Daughter of Ned and Cat. Aegon locked eyes with the girl and kissed her hand. “My lady” is all the king said to her causing her face to go crimson.

Next to Sansa was her twin sister Arya. You wouldn’t think they were twins given the fact that they were nothing alike. Aria shared the features of a Stark than a Tully, brown hair and grey eyes. Aegon repeated the same hand kiss, he was met with only a deep stare from the girl.

Finally, was the second son of Ned Stark, Brandon, but most call him Bran. Jon mentioned his great ability to climb, something that terrifies his mother. The young boy stood up straight when the king approached him.

“I hear you wish to be a knight.” Said Aegon.

“A knight of the Kingsguard your grace.” Said Bran nervously. “If you would have me.”

Aegon smiled and knelt down to him. “You have a lot of growing up to do first. In the meantime you should look after your family, can you do that for me?”

Bran nodded and bowed his head. Aegon patted his shoulder and rose up to meet with Eddard again. Jon walked behind Aegon after helping Danny from her horse.

“Jon!” Yelled Arya who bolted past her father to embrace her cousin in a big hug. She was joined by the rest of her siblings who all embraced Jon.

“I missed you all very much.” Said Jon.

Dany approached lord and lady Stark and bowed her head.

“Your home is lovely Lord Stark.”

“Jon has told us allot about you princess Daenerys.” Said Ned. Dany blushed.

“Ahem!”

Eddard and Catelyn turned around and came face to face with his sister Lyanna. The dowager Queen jumped from her horse and walked up to her brother with contempt in her eyes.

“Lyanna?” Said a confused Ned.

Lyanna looked over her brother from head to toe.

“What have you done to yourself Eddard Stark.” Lyanna said disappointed.

The lord of winterfell gave a very confused and concerned look. Catelyn looked on with the same confusion.

Lyanna’s face brightened into a smile and than turned to laughter. She pulled her brother into a powerful hug.

“If you could see the look on your face brother, It’s been so long.”

Ned sighed with relief and a little embarrassment, “I missed you to sister.”

“Cat, you look amazing!” Lyanna hugged her sister in law tight.

“Thank you Lyanna.” Cat said out of breath.

Lyanna broke from Cat and held her arms out. “Aunt Lyanna is home!”

One by one, the Stark children embraced their Aunt. Small tears can be seen from the queen mothers face when she saw the smiles around her.

“They all look very happy don’t they Egg.” Dany said.

“Family is the strongest bond their is.” Said Aegon. Holding out his hand for Dany to take witch she accepted as the two looked on at the Stark family reunion.
