Ken and Jane's Apartment
"Morning, sleepyhead," Jane greeted cheerfully when Ken left from his room. She placed a plate of food in front of him at the small kitchen table. "I thought we'd start the day with a good breakfast."
"Thanks, Jane," Ken mumbled, still rubbing the sleep from his eyes. He stared at her for a moment, admiring how the sunlight made her golden-brown hair glow. Jane seemed oblivious to his gaze, happily humming as she sat down to eat.
"Sarah called earlier," Jane said between bites. "She wanted me to remind you about tutoring her in calculus today."
"Right, I almost forgot," Ken replied, suddenly feeling more awake. As they talked about Sarah, Ken couldn't help but notice the way Jane's fitted shirt accentuated her curves. He tried to focus on their conversation, reminding himself that Jane was his childhood friend and he had to respect her.
"Anyway, I'm going to take a shower before classes. I should be done in twenty minutes or so," Jane announced, standing up from the table. There was only one bathroom in the apartment, and they had grown used to taking turns using it.
As Jane walked past, Ken caught a glimpse of her cycling shorts hugging her round backside. He felt his heart race, realizing just how big and perfectly shaped her butt was. Ken became embarrassed, hoping Jane wouldn't notice his lingering gaze. He reminded himself that this wasn't anything new – they'd been living together for years now, after all – yet he couldn't get used to these moments without feeling somewhat guilty.
"Alright, I'll wait till you're done," Ken responded, trying to sound nonchalant. Jane smiled and disappeared into the bathroom, leaving Ken to wrestle with his emotions. He knew he should be more focused on their friendship and studying together, rather than getting distracted by Jane's ever-growing body.
"Get it together, Ken," he scolded himself in an undertone, taking another bite of his breakfast. He tried to focus on the upcoming tutoring session with Sarah, but the image of Jane's body remained imprinted in his mind. As the sound of running water filled the apartment, Ken's heart raced faster, and he knew he had to confront his feelings for Jane sooner or later.
Ken started to clear the table. He tried to keep himself busy, stacking plates and gathering silverware, all the while listening to the sound of water splashing in the bathroom. He couldn't shake the image of Jane in her cycling shorts, and his mind raced with thoughts of what she looked like under the stream of shower water.
"Focus, man," he whispered to himself as he scrubbed a plate, but his curiosity was relentless. He wished he could be as carefree and unbothered about their living situation as Jane seemed to be.
The sound of the bathroom door opening broke Ken out of his reverie. As he glanced up, he saw Jane emerging, a towel wrapped tightly around her body, barely containing her ample breasts and curvy behind. Ken's eyes widened as he struggled to maintain his composure.
"Your turn, Ken," Jane said cheerfully, completely unaware of the effect she was having on him. She sauntered toward her bedroom, and Ken couldn't help but let his gaze follow her, admiring the way the towel framed her enticing figure.
"Thanks," he managed to **** out, trying to hide the tremor in his voice. As soon as Jane closed her bedroom door, Ken let out a long breath he hadn't realized he'd been holding in. His heart pounded in his chest, an uncontrollable mix of desire and guilt churning within him.
"Alright, time for a cold shower," Ken muttered to himself, attempting to lighten the mood with humor. He grabbed his towel and entered the bathroom, hoping that a moment alone would help clear his head.
Ken is dressed in fresh clothes, he stepped out into the living room to find Jane waiting for him, her damp hair pulled back into a ponytail.
"Ready to go?" she asked, her eyes sparkling with cheerfulness as she grabbed her backpack from the floor.
"Yep," Ken replied, grabbing his own bag and mentally preparing himself for the day ahead. They made their way downstairs and began walking toward the school.
"Hey, Ken," Jane started, "Paul's coming over this afternoon for his first tutoring session with me. We'll be doing two sessions each week: one on biology and the other on creative writing."
"Sounds like fun," Ken responded, trying to keep the conversation light despite the lingering tension he felt from earlier.
"Ha, yeah, I guess so. I'm just glad he's finally getting some help. His grades have been slipping lately." Jane paused for a moment, lost in thought before continuing, "You know, it's kind of strange. Paul's usually pretty good at math, but he's been struggling lately. I wonder what's up with that."
Ken frowned, considering the possibility of an underlying issue. "Maybe he's just having a rough time, or maybe there's something going on that we don't know about."
"Perhaps," Jane agreed, her playful demeanor momentarily replaced by concern. "Anyway, I'm hoping these tutoring sessions will make a difference. We'll see how it goes."
The two friends continued their walk in comfortable silence, each mulling over their thoughts. Ken couldn't help but feel a pang of jealousy that Paul would be spending time alone with Jane. He shook his head, trying to dismiss the feeling, reminding himself that it was only tutoring.
"Hey, Ken?" Jane's voice pulled him back to reality.
"Yeah?"
"Thanks for being so supportive about this. I know it might be a bit awkward with us all living together, but I really appreciate you being understanding."
"Of course," Ken replied, forcing a smile. "We're friends, right? That's what friends do."
"Right," Jane echoed, her eyes meeting his in a moment of mutual understanding.
