Keep moving

Ignoring the three men you keep moving, taking care not to make any noise as you move deeper into the room. There are some papers on the desk, but not much else, there is a door on the far side of the room. Taking the keys that hang from the wall in case the door is locked, you start towards the far door. The man in the middle cell is indeed wearing a dress - men from Athenopolis have strange customs - and the man in the far cell is complaining to you about how he has been robbed. As soon as the prisoners realize that you are not going to let them out they start cursing you loudly.

"He's down here!" Yells a man from near the bottom of the steps. You could probably take him, but there would be others after he fell. Dropping all attempts at silence you scramble for the small door at the far end of the room. The mercenary following you lets out a roar and a Frankish throwing axe flies over your shoulder and hits the door frame with a solid 'thunk' as your reach for the door handle. There is a short hallway in front of you and a door to either side as well as another door straight ahead. Closing he door behind you you see a bar that you can drop into a slot and lock the door. The door looks old, but fairly strong and it holds up well under the initial pounding from the other side. That should buy you a bit of time, where do you go from here?
