Katie makes a five step plan

Mark was annoyed at his older sister once again, as she failed to arrive to pick him up once more. He really needed to get his driver’s license.

The last period of the day had been gym, and it was an all boys class, so Mark didn’t even bother to stop time. He just wanted to get it done and over with. Imagine his surprise when he was changing back into his clothes to get a text from Katie, asking him to meet her with time frozen.

Luckily Katie was able to get in contact with her sister Nadia, who was happy to drive them back to his house, if only to show up Ashley, and to see her boyfriend.

That morning, Katie informed Mark that she had gotten the info for her father’s real-estate friend and asked if he wanted to check out her house. Mark had agreed, however they did decide not to tell Steven about this after his reaction the day before. Right now he and Katie were taking a moment with time frozen before getting in Nadia’s car.

“Ready?” Katie called out, bouncing on the balls of her feet.

“You know it”, Mark replied. “Did you find anyone you want?”

“Of course!” Katie said excitedly. “There was a cute Blonde girl in my History class that would good frozen, but she isn’t high priority by any stretch if the imagination. How about you?”

“Oh yeah a few in my English class. Maybe one from chemistry.”

“I thought you took biology?” Katie asked.

“Yeah, your looking at the genius who decided to take two science courses their senior year”, Mark proclaimed self-deprecatingly.

“Ouch” Katie emphasized.

“Your telling me”, Mark proclaimed. “Anyway, are you sure you want to freeze your dad’s friend today? What with us freezing so many people yesterday…”

“Oh yeah, I’m sure. I mean the timing could be better, but a few days before Christmas… people will think she went on a vacation. Plus she owns her own business, so we can take over for a few months until we leave for college, then take over something there and leave her house here abandoned.”

“You’ve really thought this out”, Mark said. “And you still want to go to college?”

“Yeah, it’s the only way I’ll get noticed by a recruiter if I want to the Olympics.”

“Then why did you take a year off?” Mark teased his friend. Katie simply punched him in the shoulder for that. “Totally worth it”, Mark thought to himself.

“Have you had a chance to check the missing persons registry?” Katie asked, trying to change the subject.

“Uh, no…I’ve uh….. I was busy this morning.” Mark said sheepishly.

“Doing what?” Katie asked, raising an eyebrow.

“Fucking Gabriella” Mark said nonchalantly.

Katie simply shrugged. “Well I did, and I can report that none of the girls we took yesterday have been reported as missing yet.”

“Well that’s good then right?” Mark asked, not seeing where this was going.

“If your going to collect frozen women, you need to work on your logic skills Mark. Spock would be disappointed.”

Mark simply stuck his tongue out at Katie, and she just rolled her eyes.

“What I’m trying to say is that just because they are not there now doesn’t mean they won’t end up there eventually.” Katie continued.

“Oh”, Mark said, slightly dejected, wanting to kick himself for nit thinking of that. “So you got a plan?”

“Indeed I do Ke-mo Sah-bee. Phoebe, Gabriella, and Dawn are best friends. So we have them ‘send’ an email to their parents saying they are dropping out and touring the country.”

“O.K”, Mark quickly agreed, unable to come up with something better. “And Avery and Ms. Mitchel?”

“From what I can tell, Ms. Mitchel doesn’t have any family in the U.S, and the only ones that will look for her is the IRS come tax time, as I expect the school will fire her for being a no show.”

“And Avery?” Mark asked again.

An annoyed look was on Katie’s face now.

“How bad is it?” Mark asked point blank.

“Avery’s family is rich, and she is an heiress to a multi-million dollar fortune. They have the money to look for her.”

Mark’s eyes were wide. “And she went to public school?”

“They didn’t get rich by paying for tuition.”

Mark sighed, “then what do we do. Steven never going to let her go.”

“We don’t need to let her go. What we do is You freeze her boyfriend, and stage it so that it looks like she dropped out and eloped with him.”

“O.K”, Mark quickly agreed. “And who is her boyfriend?”

“She doesn’t have one.”

“Katie!” Mark exclaimed, somewhat annoyed. “Then how do we make it look like she eloped with one.”

“I admit that this plan was designed to get some **** on my behalf. What I think you should do is freeze Jason Quin, steal and engagement ring and some clothes. Take them down to the city and pose them on the empire state building proposing, then post it on their socials.”

Mark rubbed his eyes, annoyed at the daisy chaining on freezing people. “OK, sure, whatever. I can’t think of anything better, but after your dad’s real estate friend, we need to slow down on freezing people.”

“I’m glad you see reason” Katie said, smiling.

“So where is Jason?” Mark asked, with a feeling he wouldn’t like the answer.

“Uh, somewhere in the school”, Katie replied sheepishly. “That’s why I asked you to stop time to have this conversation. We grab him, stick him in Nadia’s trunk, and she is none the wiser.”

Mark let out a deep breath. “Fine, let’s go.”

With that the two friends set off to look for their target.
