Katie blows off steam

Katie just screamed for what felt like 10 minutes. He did not dare say a single word while Katie worked through her feelings. At one point she slapped Gloria several times, and eventually collapsed into Mark’s arms in tears.

“Katie”, Mark said softly as he held his girlfriend.

“It’s just so hard, everyone is leaving me”, Katie sobbed. “My friends, my parents.”

“I’m not leaving you”, Mark said as carefully as he could. “And your parents are not leaving you. They love you and even got you a house.”

Katie sniffed. “You think so?”

“I know so. They may not be together anymore, but I am willing to bet they would do anything for you.”

Katie smiled softly. “Thank you. But what Gloria did, that…that homewreaker.”

“I agree what she did was wrong, but I doubt she caused the separation.”

Katie looked at Gloria with hatred in her eyes, but sadness on her face and sniffled some more. “Can..can you….”

“I’m not going to freeze her Katie”, Mark said bluntly.

“But..but wh….”

“This is something you need to face head on. Plus you slapped her enough that she is going to have a massive migraine rather shortly.”

Katie smiled at the thought. “Thank…thank you Mark. You always know what to say.”

Mark hugged Katie spice again and told her to clean up, and he will restart time. Katie did as she was told, and came back much better composed. With that they took their places and Mark restarted time.

“Gloria”, Katie’s father exclaimed. “That's not appropriate right now.”

The smile on Gloria’s face faltered. She then put her hands to her temples. “Oh..ow..uhhh. It feels like my head just got run over by elephants.” Mark and Katie knew this was her many slaps catching up with the woman.

She looked to Jackie who nodded back. Mark could tell there was something going on between them, but figured they were delaying their announcement for later in light of the disaster that was Gloria.

Suddenly Andrea stood up and called her hands to get everyone’s attention. “Why don’t we all get in car to go see Katie’s new house?”

“I think that’s a great idea”, Jackie said as she got.

“Same here”, Charles said as he got up.

“Owww”, said Gloria as she continued to sit.

Katie tried to keep a brave face, but Mark knew inside she was still devastated. It would be a while before she fully recovered. Once Gloria recovered from her random migraine, everyone got in their cars to see the new house. Out of view of her parents, Katie broke down once again, with Mark there to comfort her. The future looked bright, but there some trouble ahead. Good thing he could stop time.
