Kase on the last day at the castle part 2

Watching Syvis walk away, I can only imagine her naked body. I wonder if she always wore that kind of provocative outfit. It is sure to cause an erection to all men who see her pass ...I would like to use my skill on her right now but unfortunately, this is not the time.

Returning to the room, I could hear Amelia's voice before I opened the door. She was asking Tricia if she knew how Darx was doing.

Opening the door I answer her, "Darx is fine. His wounds are healed and he should be awake in no time."

Amelia got nervous. Obviously, she didn't want me to hear that she was worried about Darx. She still looks weak and pale and the first thing she does after waking up is asking about him.

"K-Kase is not what it seems, I-I just..." Amelia nervously tried to justify herself.

"I know... I know... I'm not in the mood for that right now."

"S-Sorry..."

"Well? Did you get to talk to Syvis?" Tricia asked.

"...Yes, I still don't know if she will be able to help me, but in the next few days, I will take her to the mansion to see my sister."

"That is good news. I suppose it was not wasted to have come here instead of the quest in [Tristanis]." Tricia commented, "But I still want to go to that city soon. I want to go shopping."

Once again I turned my attention to Amelia, "How are you feeling?"

We arrived late and the party had already started. As I entered the room where the event was taking place, I noticed several familiar faces. However, I have no interest in any of them. Who I'm looking for is the sexy Dark Elf. Looking around I didn't see her anywhere and instead, some fools came to greet me. Sometimes it is a pain to be so famous.

"Who are you looking for?" A familiar voice said.

Looking back, I saw Elan. He was Oblivion's representative mentor while I trained at the castle. And once I joined the guild he joined my party along with Amelia and Tricia. He is a talented B-Rank Beast-Tamer who also comes from a noble family.

"You don't seem very cheerful despite being at a party." Elan said, "And where are Amelia and Tricia?"

"Amelia stayed at the mansion and Tricia must be somewhere with her friends talking bad about someone."

"Ohh, the famous Kase alone at a party! Hahaha! That's hilarious!"

I hardly heard anything he said as I was focused on finding Syvis.

"Seriously, what are you looking?" Elan asked.

"Do you know Syvis? She is a Dark elf member of the guild."

"Syvis? Of course I know her. What about her? ...oh, I get it, I get it. Did she catch your interest? hahaha!! Don't waste your time. Even if it's you, you don't have a chance."

"What are you talking about?" I ask him.

"I've only seen Syvis a couple of times since she's always on the road. But I've seen hundreds of men and women of all social classes, the most attractive, the strongest and heroic approach her and she has rejected everyone. So don't waste your time."

Seriously nobody? So what about Darx? Was I confused and they are really nothing?

"Don't compare me to others. If I want to, she'll be mine."

"Don't say that I didn't warn you, but being you, I would not be entirely surprised if you make it. Well, enough about Syvis, let's go for a drink. I want to get drunk."

It doesn't look like Syvis is at the party. Maybe it was a waste of time coming here. But it does not matter. Once she returns to the guild I will have more opportunities.

"E-Excuse me." A member of the royal guard approached me.

"Yes!?"

"I'm sorry to bother you in the middle of the party, but the queen needs your presence. The queen asked me to escort you to her throne."

The queen calls me now? Now that I think about it, the queen and the princess should be present at this party but neither of them is here. Neither is Zhoron or Harold. It's strange.

"Did something happened?" I asked

"I-I'm sure the queen will explain." The member of the royal guard replied.

Certainly, something bad happened. Otherwise, the queen would not have called me in the middle of the party. "Let's go."

Leaving Elan behind, I followed the royal guard. He takes me to the great hall where the queen's throne is. I was not surprised that there were a large number of important people gathered here but as I walked a little further down the great hall I received a great shock. In the middle of everyone was a blonde woman whom I know well, but I thought I would never see again. "Alice!!??"

What is she doing here? Her clothes are ruined and full of bloodstains. Her face and body look hurt and it looks like she hasn't slept in days.

"Kase!"

When she saw me she ran to hug me.

"What happened to you? Why are you here like this?"

"Kase..." Alice said between tears.

The queen turned to me and said, "I'm sorry I called you unexpectedly." Then she turned to Alice, "I know you are hurt and need to rest, but I need you to tell us one more time what happened now that everyone is here."

Alice wiped her tears and with great effort began to speak, "A few days ago me and two companions ex-adventurers named Ilene and Jax, enter the forest after reports of a rare monster near the village."

Alice began to shake and her voice began to break, "I-It's something we've done for years and never had a problem. Between the three of us, we took care of keeping the villa safe for a long time. I don't understand why..."

I don't like the way things are going. "Where is Ilene? Is she okay?" I asked.

"Silence!" The queen told me, "Let her continue."

"After entering the forest we soon saw types of monsters that should not be near the village since they live deep into the forest. Obviously, we took care of them but more started to appear. And it wasn't just one type of monster, they were all kinds. From goblins to monsters I have never seen before."

"What happened next? ”Harold asked.

"W-We had **** but to run... There were hundreds and more kept showing up. I..." Alice wanted to say but started to sob. "I and Ilene managed to escape, but Jax didn't make it after an ogre smashed his head with a big rock."

For the short time I was under Jax's teachings, it seemed to me that he was a strong guy despite being only a C-Rank. They must have been strong monsters to have killed him.

Alice continued, "We managed to get back to the village before the monsters to try to evacuate everyone, but it was too late."

There was a moment of silence in the room. We can all imagine what happened next.

".....The village was attacked from all sides. W-We couldn't do anything. A-Almost everyone died..., my, my husband.... was killed in front of my eyes." Alice couldn't hold back and started crying.

"Alice, What happened to Ilene and my father?" I asked.

"I managed to escape in Mr. Enzo's carriage along with my daughter. He also managed to escape without being hurt." Alice reply.

"Was he coming with a maid? An elderly maid." I asked again.

"Many of Mr. Enzo's maids were killed in the attack. Only one came with us and she was young."

"What about the monsters? What happened to them?" Harold asked.

"They kept advancing. Ilene and some of those who managed to escape went to nearby villages to report what happened and try to evacuate them."

"Is Ilene okay?" I ask once again.

Alice took her time to answer and with a sad face replied, "Physically her injuries are not life-threatening, but she saw many of her friends die, including Amelia and Oliver's parents."

"Amelia's... parents?"

"I ..." Alice tried to say something but fell to the ground.

"Thank you very much for holding out and telling us what happened." The queen spoke. "You and your daughter will receive immediate attention. In the meantime, we will take care of the situation, so go rest." With that, the queen ordered the guards to take care of her.

"Now, Harold. What is your plan?" The queen asked him.

"We need to act immediately. [Merton] is quite far from the city so it will take the army days to arrive by land. By the time they arrive, all the villages in the region will be destroyed."

"Then we have to go flying." Zhoron commented.

"Exactly!" Harold stated, "We can send our flying squad but it won't be enough. We can also send the few army members of a not-so-low rank who have flying mounts. We will also send pigeons to nearby points from there where we have guards, they can provide support. Meanwhile, our army will advance and should arrive there in a few days."

"How long will it take them to get there flying?" The queen asked.

Liira, the commander of the royal guard, who serves as the queen's bodyguards alongside Zhoron replied, "If we leave now, I calculate that we can arrive tomorrow before the sun goes down."

"How many people can you send?" The queen asked.

"Between the flying squad and some members of the army of a high enough level, capable of flying, there are around 30." Liira answers the queen's question.

"They are less than I thought." The queen spoke with her hand on her chin and thinking deeply, "Put on a quest for the guilds too. Only for full parties of adventurers above C-Rank. We don't want any more unnecessary deaths."

"As you order, your highness!" Harold replied.

"I will go too." I said.

"Thank you. That would be of great help." Harold reply.

"Lilith, you will go too." Zhoron told a short girl with pink hair that was in the room as well.

Zhoron and the pink-haired girl exchanged a serious look. And then she finally answered, "Understood..."

I can't waste time. I turned around and walked towards the exit. But before leaving the city, there is something I need to find out. But the first thing is to find Elan. After all, he uses griffins and it's my only way to go flying.

"One more thing before everyone leaves." The queen said standing up.

Everyone stopped what they were doing and paid attention to what the queen was about to say.

"It's not normal for such a large group of monsters to attack together. We know well that they are not a very intelligent species in addition to having constant conflict with each other over territory and food. Something more terrifying is probably behind all of this, so use extra caution."

"Yes, your Highness!" Everyone responded in a firm voice.

After hearing the queen's words, I set out once again in search of Elan. I saw him in the hallway next to a girl talking very close together.

"Elan, we are leaving." I told him without stopping.

"W-W-Wait, What? I'm not going anywhere. I finally found a pretty girl."

"Stop wasting time and follow me."

"Agggg! This fucking sucks..., I'm sorry beautiful. I'll look for you later, okay!?" Elan said walking behind me. "This better be important. I was about to take her to my bed."

After explaining, he understood, "Okay..., I'll get my two griffins ready so just give me a few minutes."

Before he left I asked him for something else, "Also pick up my armor and equipment at the mansion. There is something I have to do first."

"What are you going to do?" Elan asked.

"I have to talk to my father."

"Ohh, I suppose you're worried about him and want to see how he is. It's understandable."

"What are you talking about? I just want to make sure he is healthy enough to make me his officially heir. After that, I don't care what happens to him."

"...Of course... what was I thinking ...Well, see you in 20 minutes in the stable." Elan said before leaving.

I went to my father's mansion where I found him being tended to by several healers even though he had not even a scratch.

"And what about her? Did you let her die too?" I asked.

My father was silent for a moment but finally replied, "I did what I had to do to survive. It is my responsibility as the head of this house."

His words pissed me off quite a bit. I took him from his clothes and lifted him, "Coward!"

"Haha haha!! Who would say that, you finally have the balls. Do you think that for being a high rank you have changed? You are not different from me and that's why I chose you. We are capable of doing what is necessary in order to obtain what we want. So don't come to lecture me when you never cared for her or acknowledged her."

No matter how much his words annoy me, what he says is true. Maybe I always knew the truth about her, but I was lying to myself.

Seeing his furious face I walked to the exit and addressed him once more, "When I return, I want you to officially make me the head of the house."

"You're so sure of yourself, but I wouldn't rule out your brother just yet." Enzo said as I left, "And maybe another big surprise may be waiting for you."

The mansion's doors closed, hiding the light from within.

It's what my father always did. Put me and my brother to compete for the leadership of the family without caring if we killed each other. And on the other hand, my sister, who couldn't compete, was thrown away. But in the end, I was the one who won and I won't let my father or anyone else get in my way. But what other surprise is he referring to? I know he's is not the kind of person who threatens in vain.

Arriving at the stables Elan already had two griffins ready. And next to him was Tricia.

"What are you doing here?" I asked Tricia.

"Of course I want to go. These days have been boring, so I want some action."

"This may be more dangerous than our previous quests." I told her.

"Whatever..."

"Okay..."

It won't be so bad for her to come. After all we will need a healer. Tricia is a C-Rank cleric. She and Amelia are the healers of my party. Even though her rank is not very high, she is quite good for someone who is only an adventurer for fun.

Tricia and I rode one griffin and Elan got on the other one. In the sky, the flying squadron passed over us riding different types of flying beasts. And in the surroundings, the army was preparing to leave.

"Let's go!" Elan yelled.

The griffins began to run while flapping their wings and gradually began to fly.

A great battle awaits us. And I can't wait to see Ilene again.
