Kase's awakening

[Kase point-of-view]

After the festival, bad rumors began to spread about my father Enzo and me. I already had my fun in this village, and there is no reason to stay longer. Tomorrow I will leave for Riledo, but before that, I decided to pay Alice one last visit for one last night of fun.

In the morning, amid tears, only the maid who has cared for me since I was a child whenever I come here come to say goodbye. Apparently, the guy who died at the festival was known to her, and she has been depressed ever since, but it's not my problem.

It was about time the caravan we were supposed to go out with depart, but there is still something I have to do before I go. I went looking for Ilene, who I saw in the market.

Just as I expected, she rejected me once more. After thanking her for training me one more time, I headed out of the village entrance.

I got into the carriage, and together with three maids that my father sent to escort me, we left the village. The road will be long and boring, so I will have to find ways to distract myself.

After a few hours on the road, I was enjoying a blowjob from one of the maids when the carriage suddenly stopped.

"Why do we stop?"

The driver replied, "T-There is smoke ahead."

"Follow me," I commanded the maids.

The path turns to the right, so we continue straight on foot through the forest in the direction of where the smoke was coming out. Upon arriving, we hide behind the bushes, and as I thought, the caravan was attacked by bandits. The men had been murdered, and the women were being ****.

"We'll take care of it. Please stay here, Master Kase."

"Don't make me repeat myself, I already told you not to tell me what to do."

"B-but..." The nervous maid kept trying to stop me.

1,2,3,4 seem to be 5 bandits. One of them is close, **** one of the women. Two more are inside the carriage with another woman, and the last two are on the side of the carriage looking at the things they stole.

"I'll take care of it. You three don't do anything unless I tell you."

Silently, I approached the closest bandit who never noticed me for he entertained himself too much with the woman. The woman saw me and putting my finger on my mouth, signaling that she stay quiet, with a single slash, I got closer, and I cut the bandit's neck. The bloody body fell on the woman, who screamed.

The other bandits noticed my presence, but it was too late for the two who were observing the things they stole. I'm a lot faster now after training with Ilene. I did not give them the opportunity to draw their weapons. I cut off the head of the first and stab my sword in the heart of the second. Perhaps because Ilene is now a hunter, and she is used to killing monsters in the most effective way, she taught me to take advantage of the opponents' distraction and attack the vital points.

One of the bandits, still with his pants down, got out of the carriage only to find the same fate as his companions.

The bandit is good. He must be a D-rank. Before I got to the village, I might have lost to him, but after fighting Ilene so many times, that bandit's technique seems like a joke. Maybe he is physically stronger because he is an adventurer, but I am more agile, and my technique is much better. The bandit tried to use a skill, but before he used it, one of the maids threw a kunai right at his throat, killing him.

"Didn't I tell you not to get involved?" I said bitterly to the maid.

I entered the mansion, being greeted by the maids and butlers.

"You couldn't stay in that filthy village and be eaten by monsters!? You don't know how humiliating it is to be engaged to a bastard like you. Do me a favor and disappear."

I passed by her, trying to ignore her. Being engaged to that bitch is unbearable. Unfortunately, one of the conditions that my father Enzo placed in order for me to be the head of the family in the future is that I should marry her. I have no idea why my father chose her. And in her case, her family are nobles who have lost everything and are trying to keep up appearances. Even though Tricia complains, she knows that marrying me is her family's only hope.

I walked through the mansion until I reached the door where the only person I cared a little about sleep. I knocked on the door, and a faint voice inside answered, "Come in."

I opened the door to be greeted by my half-little sister, who is always ill and has spent much of her life in this room.

As soon as she saw me, she got out of bed, smiling, "Kase! I'm so happy that you're back, coff... coff..."

"Tell me, how was your trip? How is my father? Did you bring me something?"

Since she never goes out, she's always interested in my travels. She likes me to tell her all the details, and she always asks me to bring her things. Her dream is to be an adventurer, although, for her health, it is almost impossible.

The days passed, and finally, the day of the ritual arrived.

The ritual takes place in the temple of the goddess [Imris]. When I got there, I found familiar faces. The idiots Fabe and Cal came up to me thinking they were my friends or something. "What that hell is going on? Who are you?" I asked, trying to cover the light with my palm without being able to see her face.

"I am [Imris]."

"T-The goddess [Imris]!?

I remember. The rumor that the goddess [Imris] appears in front of those who receive an S-rank. That means that I...

"Your destiny has led to this encounter. Your duty from now on will be to protect my humans from the approaching darkness."

"That means I will receive an S-rank, right!?" I asked.

"You will receive the necessary power to fulfill your purpose."

The bright light that prevented me from seeing her began to surround me. I felt a pleasant warmth like I had never felt before. The light entered my body, lifting me into the air. I didn't feel any pain, but something in me was changing. Then the light begins to disappear inside my body, dropping me slowly to my feet. I couldn't keep standing up, and one of my knees hit the ground.

"How you feel?" The goddess asked.

I lifted my face, and now without the bright light, I could see her face. She is stunning. She has a pair of beautiful white wings on her back. White hair and those eyes...

I smiled and replied, "A lot stronger!"

"Good. There is something else. I can grant you a skill of your choice. It is a gift to the pillars of humanity. Choose wisely because once granted, there is no going back."

"A skill of my choice!?"

Can I really choose any skill that I want? Which one should I choose? I approached the pillar where my card was. Once I know my class, I can choose something to help me. I took my card and saw my S-Rank. I was confident that I would receive a high rank, but I didn't expect to receive the highest rank. In the hall, only the Queen stayed with her bodyguard and her advisor, as well as Princess Kathleen and three other people who are the mentors of each of the three great guilds; Kiara from the Dark Dragons, Dante from Midnight Dawn, and Elan from Oblivion.

The talk was about how important my decision would be to maintain the balance of power between the three guilds. The Dark Dragons have Aelbrecht, who is considered one of the strongest S-Ranks, and if I joined them, that guild would be without question the most powerful guild not only in Riledo but in the entire continent. Still, Kiara didn't seem very interested in me.

On the other hand, Dante and Elan were quite interested in me. I heard that Midnight Dawn is losing prestige after so many years without an S-Rank and Oblivion is on the verge of losing her S-Rank and guild master because she is quite old and is about to retire.

I still have a month to decide, so I'll take my time and see who offers more.

The question now is who to use my skill on. I thought about using it on the queen, but she is always being escorted by the other S-Rank in the castle named Zhoron. And the princess, in the same way, is never alone.

Oblivion offered me more freedom to do whatever I wanted in addition to being the guild master once the current one retired.

When the month at the castle was over, and I joined Oblivion, I was free to do whatever I wanted. Still, there is something I am missing.

I was in one of the guild's rooms when Elan arrived. "A letter for you."

I have sent Ilene several letters since I left the village, but she never replied to any. I started reading the letter.

"How did you get her to answer you? She doesn't seem to care about you in the least." Elan asked.

"I made the payment of what was missing in the purchase of her house," I reply.

"Seriously? And what does the letter say?"

"She is angry."

"HAHAHAHA! So lame! Even after that, you are rejected again."

"She says she will pay me the money back."
