Chapter 2 by Staffa Staffa

Who is our protagonist, and what party do they choose?

Karen from HR and the office for a teambuilding exercise

Karen read the email a few times, looking for the catch. Probably it was a mistake that it got sent to a work email... but it gave her an idea. Harvey, the owner of the company, had gushed for a solid week after doing an escape room on a business trip. Work was a little slow now, and they had talked about doing an off-site teambuilding exercise. Maybe this would be the thing.

She clicked through to the survey to find thier number to call and ask about corporate rates. There wasn't any obvious contact info, but the third question was "Type of visit" and "Corporate Event" was an option. There was no way they would let her do this for free, was there?

Karen picked up her phone: "Hey Harv, I think I found a good team building exercise, and it is very low cost... no really, like maybe free, I'm trying to find out. It's local, probably an all day event. Can I set something up? ... Who should we invite? ... Just senior management, ok. I'll let you know if it pans out. Thanks. "

The form was pretty short and sweet.... just some basic info about the people coming. The core team was small. Aside from Harvey and Karen there was just Susan from IT and Paul from Sales. Karen didn't look forward to being locked in a room with Paul; at his best he was a loudmouth, and he was rarely at his best. Still, he moderated himself around Harvey, and Susan didn't take his shit either.

A few days later she got a time and place, and once again the email reinforced this was really free. Karen sent out the invites for everyone to meet at the address next Monday.

What do they find upon arrival?
