If Raichu can’t hit Golbat, you’ll just have to take down Graveler and give it time to aim. Vileplume’s accuracy shouldn’t be a problem, and landing a hit should be a quick KO.

“Vileplume, use Petal Dance on Graveler!”

Vileplume summons a flurry of petals, but Golbat intercepts them, barely taking any damage in the process. Shoot, Grass moves won’t hurt it at all! As long as Golbat is blocking its moves, Vileplume doesn’t stand any better a chance of hitting its target than Raichu does!

“Golbat, Leech Life!”

Golbat swoops in for a chomp of Vileplume, restoring the meager damage it took from Petal Dance. Ugh, you’ll never get anywhere like this! You have to find a way past Golbat!

“Just hang in there, Surge! Vileplume, find an opening past Golbat for Petal Dance!”

Vileplume tries its best, but Golbat is much more agile. It makes one more attempt to hit Graveler, but Golbat blocks the attack just as easily. As if that wasn’t bad enough, Vileplume starts acting strangely, like it doesn’t know where it is or what’s going on.

Brooke snaps her fingers. “Ah-ha, it’s confused from overusing Petal Dance! Golbat, use Wing Attack and don’t let up until your opponent faints!”

As ordered, Golbat starts aggressively flying into Vileplume. With the damage it’s sustained already, your pokemon can only take two hits before fainting, leaving Surge’s Raichu in a 1v2 against Brooke’s pokemon. Together, they easily corner Raichu. Graveler’s Bulldoze, and Golbat’s Leech Life, are enough to KO him in a fight that isn’t even remotely fair.

You lost this battle the same way you lost the last one… You and Surge look at each other with desperation, unable to even blame each other knowing the awful matchups you were handed. Brooke, on the other hand, is slowclapping over your loss. She calls out, “That was a nice try, ladies! But love finds a way, and everyone saw it coming. Your exquisite bodies will finally be able to meld with my incredible technique, like a match made in heaven! Aren’t you excited?”

“Hey, Brooke…” you start. “Can’t we just finish up dancing for tonight?”

“Yeah, f-fair and square, right?” Surge echoes timidly. “Just like we agreed. We work and go home.”

Brooke winces like she’s really agonizing over the answer, but you know she’s not. “That was an option half an hour ago, my loves, but not now. I already gave you generous treatment by letting you work at the club for the night, but that wasn’t to your liking, so here we are. Honestly, I should’ve seen this coming. You two are discerning women, so you obviously wouldn’t settle for ordinary clubgoers when you knew I was the true prize. Ah, all this conflict could’ve been avoided if I just gave you two what you deserved from the start.” She holds her head in mock regret. “Fear not, my precious dandelions. I shall rectify this problem immediately. Await me in the VIP lounge, and I shall be there to rock your worlds soon.” She winks as you and Surge drown in impotent regret.
