Chapter 4 by Shawn111 Shawn111

Is anything there when he lands?

Just his thoughts and a pool it seems.

When Theon came to, it was early afternoon. Looking around revealed he was in a forest clearing where a stream fed into a pond, with no wildlife to be seen. He knew from the fall that the eastern coast was only an hour or two's walk from where he was, unless he had somehow been moved, which seemed unlikely. Approaching the pond, he grew curious to see his own reflection. Since he had stopped his own aging, he had looked at his reflection less and less, yet Theon found he was curious to see himself now, knowing he was in a new, cirtainly not human, body.

What he found surprised him, in that he looked exactly as he did the last time he caught his reflection, just under 6 foot, lean muscle and a light tan, bright blue eyes with steel grey flecks that seemed to catch the light, and dull brown hair kept short enough it couldn't be grabbed in a fight. A too large white blouse and too tight pants seemed to be what the angel thought he would want, which was absolutely wrong. 'gonna have to get new threads, these'll be intolerable.'

'hey, he couldda dropped us in naked, made us choose between walking into a village as a monster or with your junk hanging out.' DL chuckled from the back of his head.

'fair, fair. Alright, your turn bud. Wait, how do we...' he stated to ask how to change, but then realized he knew how to do several somethings he could never do before, like muscles he had always had but had just never used.

'wierd, I thought I wouldnt be able to do anything in this form, But I can access all the angelic gifts Ariel gave me. Well, you first bud, lets see how you turned out' he mentally flexed his "form" muscle, and watched in the water as his skin grew a layer of scales, all the dark grey color of steel. His legs bulked out and re-proportioned themselves, changing from the plantigrade formation of a human foot to the digigrade you would see in a dragons hind-leg. Even after doubling in size the pants somehow didn't blow out, holding in there like a champ. His arms likewise bulked out. Going from a healthy layer of lean muscle to looking like a rounded out weightlifter, and talons erupted from the end of his fingertips. His chest bulked out too, growing a six pack and impressive pecs, which would have made that too loose shirt just about three hairs too tight, if not for the set of even more impressive wings and four identical tentacle like appendages that erupted from his back and ripped it apart enough that the scraps slid from his frame completely. Made of the same metallic substance as the rest of his body, his wings spanned about 8 feet, and the membrane was just barely transparent enough to let through light, while the tentacles were prehensile and easily ten feet stretched straight out, all with dual sided hook shaped blades that shot out and around to a point at the ends. he found that he could also flex the blades themselves, making them open and close in an almost claw like motion.

'hell yea, Doc Ock arms!' Theon thought from the back.

'nerd' was all DL gave as a response, folding the wings and tentacles tight to his back and turning his eyes to his face. He had a full snout, complete with lightly smoking nostrils, a layer of finer scales than the rest of his body, blood red eyes with gold slitted pupils, and two pairs of curling horns, one that came out of the sides of his head curled back, down and around to point forward along his jaw like ram horns, and the other sprouted off the top and swept back to the back of his skull before curling back up. A row of short spikes from the base of his skull, running down his back to the base of his spine, where it erupted into a articulated tail that reached about to the back his knees finished his change. Finally finished with examining himself, DL took a drink of water and stretched to his full height, and realized two things at once. First, this form was easily a foot taller than his human one, just over 7 foot he guessed with the horns. And two, there was a pair of wolves watching him from across the pond.

One, larger, dark grey and on the left, growled. That's all it took for DL to learn he got more than some appendages and a suit of scales from his draconic blood. It was a threat, or a challenge, it didn't matter which, his blood seethed from the offence. With a roar and a beat of his wings he launched himself across the pond and landed on the offender, his weight immediately slamming the beast to the ground. "You are nothing!" He shouted and he locked his jaw onto the back of its neck, having dimly noticed the shout had just came out as a roar. The second wolf managed to dodge his claw, but still caught a tentacle in its side, nearly eviscerating it. DL stood, one wolf struggling as it hung from his jaw, the other getting ready for a lunge, when something hit DL in the side of the knee, almost knocking him over.

A moment later all hell broke loose and another dozen wolves and two dire wolves burst out of the woods to his right. He looked over and the injured wolf saw it's opening. It sprung towards him, jaws wide only to find his hand on its throat in mid-air, and a quick twist of his wrist and neck produced two loud snaps, and both wolves dropped to the ground lifeless. The blood in his mouth and insult posed by being attacked by such lowly creatures fed into his rage and blood lust, and when the wall of wolves reached him he didn't even budge. Tentacles whipped back and forth, weaving in and around the reach of his claws and jaws as he tore his opponents apart, until he was covered in blood and only the dire wolves were left. One was wounded, he could smell-taste the blood from the wound on its chest, but the other was untouched, they started to circle, trying to get him to show one his back. When they found their opening, they both sprung, and DL knew these two were a bonded pair, they moved so perfectly in sync, a perfect hunting machine.

Their only mistake? Assuming he was prey.

He let the one behind him hit him in the back and as the one in front was running up he simply grabbed it by the neck, and started spinning himself in a circle until the dire wolf lost its footing, and the centrifugal **** lifted it from the ground. DL waited waited until the outward **** was strong enough he felt the flesh of the wolf tearing against his claws, and he just... Let go. Released from it's anchor, the dire wolf flew across the clearing and broke it's momentum against a tree. DL twisted half way around, got a hold of the wolf over his shoulder and pulled it forward over his shoulder, and the impudent thing had the unmitigated gall to do something other than beg for it's pathetic life.

It growled. In his face. Disrespectful vermin! He took either side of it's mouth in his hands, and slowly **** it open wider and wider until the growl turned into a whimper of pain. 'That's more like it' DL thought, and to drive his point home he roared in it's face, but half way through the roar there was a tickle and he recognized an odd warmth at the base of his throat. He lowered the octive of his roar to encourage the feeling and it answered by surging up and out his jaws, and the temperature of the clearing immediately jumped as the trademark fire breath of a dragon shot out of DL's jaws, and straight down the wolf's throat. By the time he was out of breath and the fire stopped all that was left was the head, a couple vertebrae, and some tattered, burned flesh. Dropping it amongst the corpses of the fallen, he contented himself with a smile, and took a couple deep breaths to calm his heart.

'damn bro note to self, don't bother trying to hold a conversation when your in the zone, I've been trying to get you attention this whole time, you were way out of it there' Theon laughed.

'yea, sorry about that, looks like we might have picked up some draconic anger and pride issues with the monster core' DL explained. Before they could continue, DL heard a whine and scraping sounds from where he had thrown the other dire wolf, which was trying to crawl even though it's back legs no longer moved. Realizing how much energy the fire breath had taken, DL simply smiled a monstrous smile, leaped back across the pool, and started walking that direction.

'yea, I could use a snack' he thought

What's next? Nom noms.
