June heads to the haunted house
The house was surprisingly large and looked like something out of a horror movie, with all turrets, and big windows and heavy porches. June parked her car in the street in front and carried her laptop bag into the house.
The inside of the house was a mixture of old and new. The floors might have been the original floors, and some of the walls looked like they were, as well, but the kitchen, for example, had new modern appliances and counters.
June set up her laptop on the kitchen table and started working. Periodically, she would get up and walk around, exploring the house, trying to figure out where a ghost might spend its time.
When she was in front of her laptop, she continued with her research. She found some additional information on the supposed haunting of the house. Some stories seemed to confirm it, but others disputed it. A ghost hunter had even visited the house just after the last known manifestation and hadn't been able to decide either way if the story was true or not.
June began to wonder if she was wasting her time, or if the ghost was real.
After thinking this, she checked her watch. More than an hour had passed since she'd arrived here.
