Julie James (I Know What You Did Last Summer)

Julie James is the central protagonist in the I Know What You Did Last Summer franchise. She was one of four Southport youths on the night of July 4th, 1996 to cover up the assumed manslaughter of Ben Willis, who survived the collision made with Barry's Beamer, subjecting her to be one of the four targets of the attacks. Julie was Ray's girlfriend from their senior year in 1997 until their breakup in 1998. She was also endlessly pursued by Max Neurick. Julie and Ray's relationship was re-consummated, and ended in marriage upon surviving the second attack of Willis in 1998.

Julie was best friends with Croaker Queen and other Southport Senior Helen Shivers who later along with her boyfriend Barry Cox and Julie's Ray became embroiled in the cover up of the manslaughter of the Fisherman. Julie went onto college and upon her homecoming began receiving frightening letters taunting her about the secret that happened the previous summer.

On July 4, 1996, after her best friend Helen Shivers wins the Fourth of July Croaker Beauty Pageant, Julie and her friends go to the beach to celebrate amongst themselves. While driving on the byway, they accidentally run over a pedestrian. Much to Julie's dismay, Ray and Barry decide to dump the body into the sea and never talk about what happened. One year later, Julie receives a letter that reads "I know what you did last summer!". Getting tired of all the cat-and-mouse, Julie talks to Missy Egan and after learning that Missy's brother who they thought they hit last 4th wasn't the man, Julie freaks out at Ray causing Ben Willis, the actual hook-handed killer, to trick Julie into boarding his boat before undocking it. Ray catches up to their boat and saves Julie by cutting Ben Willis's hand off and sending him overboard.

On July 4, 1998, Julie and her friend Karla Wilson win tickets to the Bahamas and invite Ray, though he declines due to work. After finding the dockhand Darick dead in her hotel closet, Julie immediately knows that Ben is back for ****, but she doesn't realize that Will Benson, one of her classmates, is actually Ben's son who lured her to the secluded island in hope to end her along with his father. After Ben reveals himself to Julie, she puts up a fight as he drags her to an open grave, but before he can kill her, Ray arrives and engages in a fight with Will and after Ben kills Will accidentally, Julie takes his gun and shoots Ben to ****. Sometime later, Ray and Julie get married and buy a home.

Julie is portrayed by Jennifer Love Hewitt. Since she’s played by Jennifer Love Hewitt it’s obvious she has to end up naked
