Journey to Venberk, the attack part 1

Syd stood there paralyzed as the bandits continued their attack it wasn't until he noticed one of the merchants getting attacked for trying to stop one of the raiders from stealing his spices that he found he was able to move again, his instincts were telling him he be able to attack this particular bandit without any trouble but he still decided to play it safe and use a sleeping potion, after all, he knew from experience there was no complications using such effects against non-combatants, so without any further hesitation he reached into his bag and pulled out the appropriate vial before throwing it at the feat of the bandit, the rough man didn't even have the time to be surprised as he was immediately assaulted by immense drowsiness, losing consciousness only a moment later. Not bothering further with the sleeping bandit Syd rushed at the side of the bleeding spice merchant and his daughter who was panicking over the sight, as he did he noticed Lumn looking at the fallen man and shaking his head sadly, this immediately filled Syd with disappointment, disappointment over the healer's abilities that is, he took out one of his more potent potions then carefully fed it to him while trying his best to calm his child.

The effects of the potion were just as immediate as the one used on the bandit, the wound on the merchant's chest closed and color rapidly returned to his face, however before Syd could celebrate he felt three more bandits approach him from behind...
