John dreams again

John slips into a deep sleep. The living room is filled with the rhythmic shift of colorful ads as the tv runs uninterrupted through the late night matchup. But behind John’s eyes there is only darkness, until suddenly he is awake…

The empty beer bottles are no longer on the table in front of him. In fact, it appears he must have made his way to bed. He opens his eyes slowly and scans the room, not recognizing anything. Gone are his sports jerseys and concert posters. He sits up slowly, feeling the soft sheets slide off his bare shoulder. Hair falls in front of his eyes and an unfamiliar weight shifts on his chest. He looks down through brown hair to see two substantial breasts covered by a silky nightgown pushing off his chest. He reaches up slowly to hold them..

And wakes up. The TV is playing the morning news. A half finished beer sits in his hand as reality slowly comes into focus. The dream was longer this time, and more vivid. John sits there quietly, the anchor detailing the day’s weather, as he grapples with what this could all mean.
