You recognised Miss Jessica Stone as the brunette math teacher that’d assisted in one of your classes from time to time. Though you’d never properly engaged in conversation before, you knew she was a bit of a wallflower, walking through the school halls with her head slung low and always trembling at the feet of those superior to her. It wasn’t necessarily her fault. As you could control the hivemind, you could see into her memories, pick apart each and every one of her anxieties and crippling insecurities. She’d been a quiet girl all throughout her childhood, unfortunate enough to spend it with parents with neither the time nor the passion to try and find a meaningful connection with her. As she grew older, her introverted tendencies were highlighted and outwardly mocked by her peers, causing her to abandon her fantasies of scientific grandeur and resign herself to lecturing students that didn’t appreciate her about a subject she’d long lost the passion for.

But underneath all the fear, the anxiety, the insurmountable insecurity, there lay a simmering sense of self-righteous anger. She was too timid and too weak to act upon it but there it laid nonetheless, waiting for something to make it bubble over. So you concentrated on her specifically and focused on the latent anger. You felt as it began bubbling, boiling over until it reached fever pitch. You watched as Jessica’s **** smile changed, deepening first into a confused frown and then finally turning into a furious scowl. You focused on that passion and brought it to the forefront of her mind, suppressing her timidity under this bold, new persona. You watched as she rocketed from the seat of her chair, striding over to a blonde waitress with a pencil securing her hair with a newfound sense of purpose and swinging her into a deeply passionate French kiss. Unexpected, for sure, but you could tell that in doing so Jessica had lifted a huge weight off of her shoulders. She’d suppressed her desires for too long and in this frenzy of charged emotions she’d finally built the courage to do what she’d been fantasising for months.

You watched as the waitress experienced shock at first but gradually eased into the kiss, pulling Jessica into an even tighter embrace as she pushed her tongue deeper inside her mouth. For you standing at the sidelines, it was a very cathartic experience. Not only did you aid Miss Stone by allowing her to embrace her insecurities, you had also possibly aided the waitress she’d been drooling over for some time now. Plus it didn’t hurt that you had front row seats to the show. Maybe it wouldn’t be the most entertaining piece of smut you’d ever seen (the waitress was moderately attractive in a girl-next-door sense but Miss Stone wasn’t exactly your cup of tea with her wide-rimmed spectacles and conservative bowl cut) but just by the fact that your caused it made it a memorable one indeed.

Though you had half a mind (more like 1/30th of a mind) to stick with Miss Stone and the waitress and try to use your unique set of abilities to experiment with them further, you could sense that there were plenty of other minds with their own trials and turmoils that you could solve with your influence on the hivemind. What to do, what to do?
