Jasmine the new librarian

“Alright so the job is pretty simple l, dearie. Just make sure we don’t have too many books off of the shelf,” said the elderly woman to Jasmine, her newest coworker.

Jasmine’s bubbly personality shined through as she said, “Roger that! Anything else I should know?”

The elderly woman handed her a key on a string and said, “Ohhh! The most important thing you need to make the restricted books section is always locked up at all times. Under no circumstances should you or anyone else be in there.” Her tone was serious and freaked Jasmine out just a bit.

Her curiosity had her ask the obvious question: “What’s in there?”

“It’s forbidden, dearie. We keep it locked up for a reason,” she said returning to her tone earlier. She handed the key that Jasmine tucked safely into her jean pocket as they walked back to the front desk. “This is where I leave you. I trust you’ll be fine on your own but let me know if you an emergency should arise.”

Jasmine smiled as she said, “I shouldn’t need to call you but I have your number if I need to.” The older woman smiled as she grabbed her purse and edited out the front door. Jasmine got to work on the books that were stacked in the back desk. She knew this was going to take up most of her time anyways and she would be done with her shift before she knew it.
