Chapter 48 by Xenolan Xenolan

Does he?

Jade's luck holds

Enrico never stops, but keeps moving past the tree, on into the woods. Jade waits for several minutes, her eyes watching any place from which he might re-emerge, but there's no movement in the forest other than the breeze. Finally, she begins to climb down.

If he's waiting, he'll be willing to wait a lot longer than me, she thinks. Better to face him now than stay up here for hours. Besides, if he knew I was here, he'd probably just shoot me down. Great, now I have a psychopath with a Taser rifle stalking me! I guess it's really true, there's no situation so bad that it can't get worse.

Jade reaches the bottom of the tree and alights softly on the ground, her eyes sweeping back and forth - but there's no sign of Enrico or anyone else. She reaches back and takes the stick which she had left against the trunk of the tree, but doesn't move just yet.

How did he track me? she wonders. There's no way they're still updating his device, he probably doesn't even still have it! Wait... I left the crash site and headed this way, in a straight line toward the finish. What if that's what he's doing? What if he waited by the crash to see if I'd show up, and then he saw me when I finally did? But he couldn't have been following me, I stopped for a while to secure the flare gun... after running as fast as I could for at least ten minutes! And he can't run, so he didn't catch up for a while.

So then, why's he still going that way? If he's tracking me, then there's no trail for him to follow anymore, so why's he still headed for the other side of the island? Well, that decides one thing anyway; I certainly can't go that way. If he still just had a stick, I could try to get the drop on him... but with that taser or whatever it is, he can take me down from ten yards away if he hears me coming up behind him. I've got ****, now; I have to head for that Trap House, and hope I'm fast enough not to get trapped in it!

She takes one more long look at the woods where Enrico disappeared, and then heads off to the left of that spot, moving quickly. Once she's under thicker cover, she starts moving faster still, almost at a jog.

Right now, they're seeing me suddenly head in a new direction, she thinks, but maybe Enrico showing up could actually help - they'll think I'm just trying to get away from him, and they might not set the trap until I'm already through it. They're bound to send someone after him, won't they? The Director said it himself, they want him off the island. But what if they don't know he's even still here? They might think he was killed in the crash... of course, they wouldn't have found a body...

The Sun peeks through the trees, lower than Jade realized; afternoon is turning into evening, and with that realization comes a sudden feeling of exhaustion. The Trap House is not too far away for her to make it there by sundown, but of course that's no safe place to sleep. The house on the OTHER side might be, though... and then a grim thought occurs to her.

What if I can't get into the tunnel from this side? What if the door is hidden and locked? I didn't think of that! This could be a huge mistake... and I don't think I can make any more deals with the Director, not that I'd want to. Okay, let's think about this for a moment. The house is almost certainly a trap, because the tunnel only shows up on the men's map. But it wouldn't make sense if it were only a one-way trap; the Director wouldn't know in advance which house a girl might take shelter in, he'd want to be able to send the men through the tunnel in either direction. So there's going to be a hidden door on BOTH sides. But that doesn't mean I can open it, even if I find it; they could easily have a remote lock on the thing and it only opens when they want it to, like when they've sent a man into the tunnel. That means there's only one way I'm going to be able to use it.

I'm going to have to spring the trap.

Jade's stomach churns even as she feels the alien excitement rise within her, thinking about how she's going to need to essentially present herself as bait. I know that it's a trap, she thinks. I know that they'll send someone in after me. And I've got the means to **** him to back down. Jade feels the weight pulling at her hair, the weapon hidden there. But, I also need the willpower. If he comes at me on the attack like a mad ****, I know I can keep it together - but what if he approaches gently, makes it my choice, even offers to help? Could I refuse that?

The image of a tall, handsome man with bronzed skin and long, wavy hair swims into her mind, his hand outstretched, his eyes kind and understanding... and she shivers, the rush of sexual excitement taking her by surprise. She drops to her knees and bites her lip to avoid crying out as the mere thought almost drives her to climax.

Well... that answers that, she thinks, once she CAN think again. I won't be able to resist, there's no point in fooling myself. I'm ****, I'm exhausted, and I'm so pumped full of aphrodisiacs I'd fuck Gilbert Gottfried while he sings "You Are My Sunshine" in a clown costume. Everyone has their breaking point, and there's no sense pretending I don't. I have to assume that I'm the last virgin left on this island, and if I go down then it's Game Over. So, if I'm going to do this, I have to clear my head.

I need to find one of the other girls.

Once again her mind calls up images which Jade cannot ignore - this time, the smooth and silky body of another woman, the soft swelling of her breasts and a hard nipple against Jade's lips, a slender hand reaching down to touch her aching clit...

"Oh, fuck!" Jade manages to keep her voice down to a tiny squeal as this time, the fantasy overwhelms her and drives her over the edge. The rush of a hard and intense orgasm floods through her body; already on her knees, she falls onto her hands as well, panting hard as if the sex had been real and not just in her head.

It's a long moment before she can think straight again, but when at last she can stand up, her head is clearer than it was before. Not by much... but enough so that she can at least consider her plan without succumbing to uncontrollable desires.

It's getting late, she thinks. That means that at least some of the girls will be looking for a place to get some rest, even the ones who plan to keep going through the night. The Trap House is bound to be a very tempting-looking target, and I'm sure the Director is pulling some strings to ensure that at least one of the girls is heading that way - especially since he knows that I'm going that way, and he knows what happens when I get alone with another girl in a "safe house"! If I play along with that, then I can probably at least rest assured that he'll let it happen without interruption.

Okay then. That's my plan. Find the Trap House, wait for another girl to show up, go in after her and make some fireworks. Then when the men show up... well, I've got a literal secret weapon for that. It's chancy, there's so much that could go wrong, but I didn't get this far by not taking risks!

And then...
